So after finally trying get through and getting approved for a Secured Citi card with a $200 Limit (Still haven't gotten it yet btw) it seems like discover wants to join the party! Even with a collection im fighting it won't give me anymore info online and currently on the phone with their backdoor number, but they did say it is offering me a discover it chrome card, will update whenever i get more info
I'm guessing they want someone to be a co applicant?
Forgot to update while online, she said no because of too much credit tradeline (Like really), going to call recon tomorrow and see what they can do
Heres what Id do...
Id try to recon but discover is not known for successful recons.. But they are pretty good at telling you what they want to see if you actually talk to a credit analyst during business hours...
I'd sign up for Credit Scorecard and get a free fico from discover.... It will put you on their radar and give them more data for the prequals... AND can possibly save you a pull .... (one pull instead of two)....
Try again after youve had your secured card a bit longer... perhaps 6 months or so?
The other route (that CS also enables) is being prequaled for their secured card).... and you might be able to get that quicker but some folks have had problems with it unsecuring ..but many have had it unsecure within 7 months or the first year.....

Sorry for the denial OP
Discover still refuses to pre-qual me for anything.
How many TLs do you have?
So far I all I have currently shown up is the citi secured card I signed up for earlier this month, I also have an Alliant SSL of $500, With the balance down to $35 that still hasn't reported and a Self Lender "Credit Builder" that also hasn't reported yet, I do have a Collections from T-Mobile in dispute right now, I have noticed that the Credit one Pre-Qual and discover have told me that the only reason I'm denied is because the age of my accounts, calling discover recon they said: said that after 6 months of good credit history with the citi card to reapply and I should get an approval.

Dont bother with the Credit One.. But... im glad you called Discover... and ... looks like i might have called this one... =)... Discover likes THIN files but wants to see a little bit of activity/movement.... So be responsible with the Citi... including making more than one payment a month if possible to keep the util down.. since it has a smaller CL..... and try again in 6 months..... I do hope you signed up for Credit Scorecard now/by now however.... .. Youll keep yourself on discovers radar and have one real fico... and once you get the disco.. youll have 2 different fico scores... not fako... =) (and possibly save one HP)

Mean.. have you opted out of marketing? If you opt out.. it applies for ALL cards usually not just the one you opted out of..
https://www.optoutprescreen.com/
Also are any of your reports frozen/on ice/locked/fraud alert/etc?
Have you signed up for Credit Scorecard? This will give them current data on your credit (and a fico score monthly for you)
Your definitely in the ballpark for getting courted by Discover IMHO.... You should be getting offers unless you burned them a long time ago..
Even so.. id wait for that baddie before applying but you still should try to make sure your still avalible for courting/offers now...=)
Hell id apply for credit scorecard and cold app with your scores once the baddie falls off.... Reason for CS is we are trying to possibly save one HP out of two =)
So app for CS now... wait for the baddie to dissapear, then app away =)

Im opted in. I did have a very old HSBC cobranded Discover account but that was like 10+ years ago. Reports are frozen so I do not expect any mail. I do use their scorecard and their preapproval sites. Nada. At this point it doesnt even matter as in 2 days ( HOPEFULLY ) my TU report will be 100% squeaky clean and Ill have lots of different banks to consider.
