Re: NASA approved. highest limit yet!

NASA

Reason for denial:

Collections: (i have two unpaid med collections that are 4 years old)

excessive revolving/borrowing capacity (100k in open credit lines, usage is at 3% utility)

excessive recent opened revolving accounts (5 new accounts in the last 2 years. 2 of those were within the last year)

EX-Fico 08 is in signature but I'm not sure which model they pull cause they showed a 649 with score ranges 320-844.

PenFed

Promise Card- Approved 17k

Platinum Card- Pending (Had to send two recent pay stubs for this one, its still under review)

PLOC- Denied (Reason was for collections)

EQ-Fico 08 is in signnature but im not sure which model they pull cause they showed 664 with score ranges 150-950.

Do you mind sharing your Experian score when you apped with NASA and EQ score with PenFed?

Also, what was t he number of inquiries and accounts you opened within 6-12 months as well as your overal credit utilization when you apped?

It helps a lot of people (I'm personally going to app PenFed, RBFCU and NASA next year for CC and PLOC) when specifics are given by people that get approved or denied. Thanks and congrats on your PenFed approval I'm jealous.

What were your starting credit limits with PenFed?

Here's Bowzer's approval thread. Smiley Happy

Re: NASA approved. highest limit yet!

Thanks for the detailed information, much appreciated.

That low Experian score is probably what did you in along with the two baddies with them.

It would be interested to see if you reapply once you get to a 700 EX score, but still have 1-2 baddies on your reports if they'll approve you. Like Baller4Life has said 700+ with Experian is your road to redemption with them. Since your utilization (3%), income ($120K), and credit line amounts ($100K) are all super fantastico.

@CreditLuv

I'm not really sure that you can get data points with regard to NASA. Their approvals/denials seemed to be all over the place. When I applied last month, I was denied and some of the reasons for the denial were length of time accounts have been established (on EX it was over 7yrs and over 9 for both TU/EQ), too many inquires in last 12mths (I had 1 over 12 months and depending on which showed first 0-1(I applied for both NASA and BofA on the same day) in last 12 months) and lack of recent installment loan information (I have no idea what this meant considering my student loan has always reported). My score wasn't that great, according to them 675  from a range of 320-844 (I think someone mentioned they use FICO 2). I was also told that they have a strict policy regarding tax liens, and yet Cap was approved with one (almost the same age as mine).

I believe with them it truly is YMMV.

**FICO 8 Scores EQ EX TU **

That's 5 on EX. Don't forget that there are two other CRA's.

Re: NASA approved. highest limit yet!

They said that about putting a man on the moon too. Smiley Wink

I'm thinking about having one of my software programmers create a database online that we can enter data points into for different credit card and lending companies for approvals, denials and CLI's. It takes dozens and hundreds of hours to try and find (hardest part) and go through so much data on here and other forums.

It would be like a who is credit pull database, that's out there that many us know about.

The database would get such data points such as state of where the person applying lives, stated income, FICO 08 credit scores, inquires/open accounts within 3, 6, 12 months before apping, total inquiries and accounts, total credit limits, negatives, type of negatives, AAoA, etc.

Even if only 25-50 of the die-hards on here participate religiously it would be a lot of great fresh data that can be updated weekly to be viewed by the people that actually give data.

I'd like to get as much input from people about what info to collect for the database.

Of course, NO specific info would be asked for like names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, ss#, etc.

I'm going to make this a new topic post as well.

Let me know your thoughts.

@CapTool

LMAO! Yes, I know they're two (actually four) more CRA's. LexisNexis and Innovis as well are technically CRA's.

A big limit awaits you!

Welp...I got same PLOC message. We'll see if there was a pull. I didn't try for a CC first.

Re: NASA approved. highest limit yet!

Man, these guys are thorough. They sent me a docusign, and part of it was an identity verification questionnaire. They had information going back over 35 years!
