Finished self loan thru nfcu 6 months to build relationhip back in April.
Direct Deposit set up since December.
Use cards for small purchases $100-200 a month.
Mail in the letter for 2 cards states " You've reached Navy Federal maximum unsecured limit". Other, " Card recently increased , (Cash Rewards Grad) Tried to recon, denied again for all 3. Fico scores 690-710 across all 3. I have numerous cards with $10k+ limit. Total credit lines of all cards is $85k.
Someone shed some light on what i am possibly doing wrong?
My opinion on this is that you are not doing anything wrong per se but that your relationship with them isn't even a year old yet. That combined with the amount of credit you have across the board with your current or potential DTI means NFCU likely believes they have extended themselves as far as they are going to for right now. Give it some time and stop trying to rush it. The more you apply for CLI or any other credit so rapidly the more desperate you seem which is a giant red flag to creditors that you might be in trouble. Credit building is a marathon not a sprint.
Maybe wait atleast next month then? Or later in the year?
Give yourself at least 4-6 months.
You didn't do anything wrong. That denial reason simply means they're not willing to give you more credit *at this time.* However, with time (6-12 months, IMO) you can probably see some growth.
It took me two years to get past the " you've reached NFCUs maximum internal limit" but I read about other people getting out of that purgatory sooner while I didn't. It's profile dependant.
