Hi All,
I currently have a NFCU more rewards card. $500 limit, am wondering how long do you have to wait to request a cli if you were denied for maximum limit. I do also want to preface to say that in the two months from my last denial, my tu fico 8 has increased from 528 to 650. I also have gone from 8 collections to 2 collections, so alot has changed, but don't know if I need to wait 91 days from the date of the last rejection which was back in april?
Also, wanted to add when I did prequal back in april, it would only show me eligible for nrewards, but when I checked pre qual last night, it showed me eligible for all cards. Not interested in applying for a new card right now, just want to increase limit on my current one.
@Anonymous Congrats on your score improvement and paying off/down yours COs
As far as NFCU goes... your second card grows faster than the first. I would recommend opening a second card and your SL is usually higher than the CL of your first.
Great progress. Just want to add Navy is not Amex where you have to wait 91 days after a denial. You can request anytime but must wait 6 months after an approval. I would recommend having your reports locked when requesting cli to try and leverage an sp result. If you apply without locks you take the 50/50 chance they hp you. If Navy reqursts you open a report for your cli request then you can decide how important it is to you.
Under the Credit Card Applications section, not too far down, is this giant Navy Federal thread:

Congratulations on your score improvement. In my opinion I would apply for a second Cc bcuz you probably would receive a higher CL and if approved request a CLI on your first Cc. But, that is my opinion!
No one addressed this part, but the Navy prequal is useless. Don't trust it at all.
But yes, you can request a CLI again at any time. If approved, then you must wait 181ish day to ask again.

Thanks, I'm in the garden right now, holding off until September for two inquiries to fall off to increase my chances. I have 6 inquiries over the past two years.
Thanks for the tip, will definitely try this when I leave the garden in september.

Thanks in the garden right now, hoping to lower inquiries before applying again, that;s why I was hoping for the soft pull with the CLI
