Hi all,
I just closed on a house about a month ago and just financed a new car a week ago, now I'm trying to end with getting approvals on at least two more credit cards to continue my quest to a 740+ score.
Of course, with purchasing a new home and getting a new vehicle, my scores have all taken a hit, so my card prospects probably aren't what they would have been a month ago.
My "strongest" scores right now are a 679 TransUnion Bankcard Score 8, a 697 Experian Bankcard Score 8 and a 674 Equifax Bankcard Score 5.
My question is what would be the easiest cards to start with for better approval odds?
I want a couple of new cards to help my overall utilization in hopes of getting a score bump if I can get my usage under 10%.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance!
@Anonymous - congrats on the new home and such a great milestone.
For your reference, the link further below provides some insight on which lenders access specific CRAs + data points on the FICO versions used.
As far as recommendations, I would suggest narrowing down the type of credit card that would provide you with long term benefits, whether it's cashback, rewards, balance transfers, etc., this way you're not stuck with something that may not align with your spending habits or specific situation.
This helps tremendously.
We'll see what happens from here...fingers crossed!
Thanks so much!
