Hey all,
My scores are all 730+ across the board. I signed up with NAVY in september and applied for a card the next day and was denied. I have about 40+ Inquires on TU most of which are from cars and no negatives but noticed alot of members here get approved with alot of inquries...
Ive been seeing this 91/3 rule. Im prequalifed for the all the cards but have been denied twice. If i wait the 91 days, what does this mean? I have a better chance of getting approved? Thanks.
The 91/3 rule is in regards to CLI on your first card and the time in between getting a second card.
Their prequalified are not accurate .
What were the reasons for your denials?
It says
credit file is too new (AAoA 2 years, oldest card 8 years)
too many inquries
Do you currently have high utilization on multiple cards?
Have you tried recon? Send a secured message and explain a high number of inquiries related to auto shopping.
@jayfico1 I am sorry to hear about the denial. I have to agree with the above posters. I believe the denial is due to the number of inquiries.
You can attempt to perform a recon with them. I think if the number of inquiries is truly due to auto rate shopping, you have a good shot.
Allegedly if those inquiries are made within 2 weeks, they should count as 1 against your score. Unfortunately its possible for some inquiries to be coded incorrectly and some financial institutions that are sensitive to inquiries may deny you for them regardless of the reason.
Good luck! Let us know how it turns out.

You mentioned your AAoA of 2 years, so aside from the inquiries, how many accounts have you opened in the past 12 months?

Just because FICO may lump these inquiries together for FICO scoring purposes, lenders are free to put whatever weight they want onto the number of inquiries on your file, even if they are over 1 year old
My UTI is at 9%. Waiting for a reponse now.

Did you apply for the Flagship or another card? Flagship has tougher UW than the rest of them. If you went for another card, it surprises me, usually NFCU isn't that shy with AAoA. 2 years is twice what even Chase wants.
