AMAZING -- NFCU is really weird; they are great for folks with Fico in the 600's ....above that all bets are off
My wife - with TU of 700+ was denied for a CC with them, and then 3 months later was approved for 1K - clean TU, just had a discharged Ch 13 - that has now fallen off
same situation for me - and I make 168K a year - got the same 1K SL - my lowest limit by far (I have limits on other cards up to 20K per carrd, just approved for Amex BCE for 5K SL)
my util is between 2-8%
wife's is about 12%
Wow! YMMV seriously with them you always assume the people with the better profiles get the best limits/rates. I'm sure your card will grow much more quickly than mine! Congrats on your AMEX approval once I get my scores back up I wouldn't mind adding them to my small collection in the near future!

Thanks - I was really excited about the AMEX approval (and I had been blcklisted since the mid 90's)
Congrats on your approval
Thank you BIGSTARXXX!!
Congrats, that is pretty amazing really given your scores. I had a tough time with scores right at 600 when I first started with NFCU, after some denials I got a secured card, just a couple of months later the flood gates opened and I had an unsecured card with a 10k limit and a CLOC with 15K. They are a fantastic organization. Continue to work your rebuild, take good care of all of your accounts and in a few months it will grow. If you don't get a CLI the first time be patient. I would wait until your scores grow a bit before applying for another card with them or the CLOC.

Congrats on your approval. Navy can be a very good friend to have in the credit world, treat them right and the sky is the limit. To be honest, Your APR is not what I would consider high especially when you consider your current scores, your APR is very competitive.

Thank you! I was honestly surprised myself. I don't know what they saw upon review, I still have a long way to go but I'm happy they gave me a chance! I feel like I am the only person not really iching for a CLI lol although it would be good I'm happy with my SL for the time being. Thanks for the advice no more apps for me until I grow the accounts that I have, I've always wanted to start my very own garden.
