I've heard of banks doing a double (Chase) or triple (Capital One) pull when you apply for a credit card, but haven't heard of credit unions doing that.
I just applied for a credit card with Northwest Federal Credit Union. They double pulled (EQ & EX). To add insult to injury, they denied my application.

IIRC as far as CUs, on rare occasions, PenFed has been known to double pull, EQ and TU. There's also some (not many) DPs on NFCU doing double pulls as well (depending on the product), but not the general norm.
A couple of local CUs (OH) have also been known to double pull.
What were the reasons cited for the denial?
I don't have the reasons yet, will know when snail mail arrives.
But it's predictable in my case. When credit unions turn me down it's invariably because I have too much credit and/or too new credit.
Sorry you were denied... however Dcu and Chevron are less fussy with high revolving available
