Whatcha waitin' on?
Heh, I'm chicken. I'll probably wait until the next AR at the end of this month.
Yeah, I'd pick on you but I'm right there with ya! I'm considering the same, I almost pulled the trigger last week but stopped just short of actually doing it. My paystubs vary from low and slow this time of year to oh holy crap in a couple of months. I figured this moment isn't the time under the circumstances. Seems the over $25k CLI threads are few and far between for us to peek in on around here, so I know we're both watching and waiting. If I don't get the chance before that to tell you, I wish you the very best of luck with it!

DW currently has Cash Rewards at $10k and has a $3k balance. She requested a CLI to $25k, but got 3-5 day message with no counter offer on $41k/income. How much do you need to report to get a CLI above $10k. Anyone have any experience with this?
DW received a CLI to $12,500 the next day after a credit pull. This was about 10 days shy of the 6 month mark since her previous increase.
I, however, applied two days later for mine. Reported income was $61k, and I had to call two days later to find out I was denied. They told me to wait for the denial letter in the mail. The only reason stated was "insufficient income for the amount requested". They listed my EQ score as 646, and said that the score is weighted heavily in determining CLI upon manual review.
I just opened an account with Navy Fed and also applied for the nRewards card and got approved for $7K limit. I have not gotten card yet, but also applied for cashrewards while i was at it. what do you think the chances are of it being approved? its being reviewed right now. Thanks
I send a secured message asking about timeframe for a CLI and pulls, this is what I got. Can someone verify or share experience with the validity of this statememt from NFCU? so how and when does it work as a soft pull?
Navy Federal Response 03/12/2015 : Thank you for using Navy Federal’s eMessaging Service. Periodically, credit card accounts are automatically reviewed for a credit limit increase based on the bi-monthly updates we receive from the credit bureaus. If an increase is granted, an advisory notice is placed on the subsequent credit card statement. Navy Federal does not pull a credit report when an automatic increase is processed. However, if you want to apply for an increase we do advise that you wait at least six months to establish some credit history with Navy Federal. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
I followed up with a soft/hard inquiry question and this is their reply. Hope this helps someone, it reinforces what addict and many others here have stated. Now I just need to keep an eye on soft pulls and pull the trigger right after.
What's the best way to check for soft pulls?
Navy Federal Response 03/12/2015 : Thank you for your message. If you apply for an increase there is a possibility of auto approval based on a soft hit, however if the system does not auto approve and the request has to be manually reviewed it will be a hard pull on your credit. There is no way to guarantee we can approve an increase without a hard inquiry. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
I tried talking to them as i was declined the CashRewards card. They said that they are not allowing swapping CL from one card to get the other. Was going to try the credit addict aproach. no bueno. well we shall see how nice they are in 90 days. They are already better than USAA which never gave love to me for a CC. One day with NFCU and its already looking better.
Thanks for the info, Chris0321. Thinking about applying for a Cash Rewards card myself. I was going to garden for the rest of the year at which point all my baddies will be gone, but I think I might just pull the trigger since it seems like I'd be approved. Then I could just grow the CL.
NFCU has definitely been good to me. With where my scores are right now and having been a member for a whole whopping 2 days, i not only got the nRewards for $7K limit, but they also refinanced my truck loan and cut the interest rate in half. They are definitely more member friendly than USAA. I would recommend them to anyone.
Just wanted to update, also got NavCheck for $6k.
