Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Utilization has no memory and is only a concern when applying for new credit otherwise use your card to 200% if you want and pay it down as quickly as possible. Most banks won't worry to much if its only 1 or 2 accounts.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Soooooo, I am a first time poster but a longgggggg time lurker!  I've read, read, and re-read these threads.

BACKGROUND INFO:

I filed BK ch7 March 2016 joined Navy Fed. CU Jan. 2016.  The second I was discharged (June 2016) I apped for Nrewards card and got approved for $500, apped for CLOC and got denied.  September I asked that they change the Nrewards card to the Cash Rewards card and they did.  November 2016 asked for a CLI of $600 (I was scared to go high so I went low) got a 24hr message and the next day logged in to see it was approved.  So that's $1100 Cash Rewards card.  February I decided to test the CLOC waters again (cuz you just never know with Navy Fed)  I called in to app with Rep.  I was sooooo nervous and sure he would say denied.  He asked what amount I wanted to apply for and I said $5500 He took my info put me on hold.  While on hold I got scared and decided I would go lower once he got back on line.  When he came back I said you know lets change the amount to $3000, he said why do that you when you are approved for the $5500 you asked for!

Now having said all that just to ask the pro's here, 1) can I on the next AR in May go for the full 15K on my CLOC, and 2) ask for a CLI on the rewards card since May would be 6 mos since the last cli?

data points: eq 636...trans 641 and ex...656 FICO 8 scores (I have a monthly subscription)

I am carrying a small balance on my Rewards card and have only used $500 of the CLOC

Grats on the CLI. Next time, ask for the max! You ever heard the saying, you don't get what you don't ask for? Well, with NFCU, it is the truth!! =)

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place but I was wondering..

I have a Navy Platinum MasterCard and I've paid it off. I was wondering what the process was to try to change it to Cash Rewards? Do I call and ask? Is it a new app?

Thank you

Remember that it's always a HP for the CLOC, so if your profile can handle that no harm in asking

As for the CC, I recommend pushing the Max CLI button once you're 6 months from the last CLI

I got approved for the Navy Platinum card yesterday, SL was $11,200. I was hoping for $24,000. I was wondering if i can request a cli now and is it a SP or HP.
