For the NFCU cards that offer both Mastercard and Visa versions, what is the determining factor in Navy deciding which one you get? Or, is that you can call and request one over the other?

When I applied for my Platinum, I really wanted a MasterCard (at the time I had two Visa's already).

I had to look carefully, but during the app there was a place where you could click a radio button to select if you wanted Visa or MasterCard... if I'm not mistaken, it was set to Visa by default (in other words, if I had overlooked it I would have received a Visa, or at least at that time that's how it worked... it's been over a year ago so it might have changed).

Ironically, I now have way more MC's than Visa's, so it would have turned out quite fine had I not found that selection and ended up with a Visa after all.  (LOL)

(Side note: I dont know if it's possible to change networks with NFCU once the account is established... perhaps somebody else will know.)

Just checked my EXPERIAN Report and there's an AR there from 3/30/17.  Anyone else have this happen? I didn't apply for anything around that time. So it seems pretty random

Waiting until tomorrow to try for a CLI on mom's card. She's had 3 statements, but tomorrow will make 90 days from approval. Figure it's better to wait a we bit to cover both bases.

Thanks for checking! Bingo! I just pulled the trigger this AR.  I went from a SL of 3700 to 22K. I'm very happy.  I hit the 'max amount' button. This isn't my highest limit but it is plenty.  I'm glad it went up this AR.  I opened my card on Jan 24th.  My fourth statement is about to cut in a few days.  I seldom carry a balance on my NFCU card; almost always pay in full.  Each time I have carried a balance it's mainly been about 80 bucks.  My FICO scores are all either above or close to 700.

Re: Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

Omg! I saw the experian AR post as well from 3.30. Hit the max button 2 minutes ago and cli to $18k from $2100. Opened 12.28.16. I'll go for the max again around 11.1.17. I'm golden for now! Love NFCU and the threads on it! $15k on CLOC first attempt on March 12th as well.
