nice! So I want to share my story with yall.
So about a year and a half ago I got a cash rewards card with a 9k limit and a cloc for 15k. I was stupid and ran up my balances and got myself in trouble. I was deep in debt now about 55k across 8 credit cards and some personal loans. However I was lucky that i got a gift of equity from my parents when I bought the house i was renting from them. One of the stipulations for a gift of equity purchase was that the equity that was built up in the house was used to pay off all debt to qualify me for the home loan. The equity paid off my 15k navy cloc and my 9k balance on my cash rewards card and well as all 54k of credit card debt! I feel like two boulders were just lifted off my shoulders! My fico score went from 550 to 705 in the span of the last 2 months!
So with my new score I decided to apply for a CLI on my cash rewards from 9k to 25k and was given a review notice.. I then got a credit alert from my credit monitoring that there was a inquiry pull from Navy fed... ughh i wasnt too happy about that. (hopefelly that CLI is appproved though so its not all for nothing).
So about 10 mins ago i applied the for the platinum, which would be me 2nd credit card from navy and I got got approved for 25k @ 10.99% APR! Holy **bleep** im happpy! this will help my utilization alot more and should increase my score. My goal is to get into 750's or higher by next december. It's possible people, just keep paying down debt and responsibility is the key. I know ive learned the hard way.. God Bless you all!
Hi All!
It's been a while since I posted here. Finished the new home construction in April. My first Navy Cash Rewards card was 7800. Did a lot of work to rebuild my credit for the new construction and getting that. I paid off some additional tradelines that dropped my overall Credit Card usage from 31% to 10%. Request CLI with NCR card and denied due to hitting their max based on income. Not sure if I had originally gotten the card with my income only. On a gut feeling, I applied for their Go Rewards card about 10m ago and got approved for 20,000. I'll take it!
I thawed EQ to go for another card. I figured might as well ask for CLIs on my two cards with Navy. In the past, I was hoping for SP luv only to be told to thaw so they could HP. Tonight, I'm letting them but they have been in review for a few hours already. Hours, can you believe it

The review might be because they are pulling TU for most new card apps (my app in July was TU).
Pffft. I requested a CLI and never got a response, just a HP.

I meant I thawed to go for another card with a different issuer (Penfed). But in any case, all my reports are thawed right now (EQ, EX,TU). They will go back into the vault at the end of the week.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, they've been pulling EQ for CLIs recently (although as you likely know they have the ability to hit any of them).
Hopefully you'll hear good news soon!
It's been about 6 months (5/3/18) since Navy CLI'd my CR from an SL of $500 to $1500. I was thinking of gardening for about a year but then pulled the trigger. I had a Navy FICO of 788 (11/3) and a pretty clean file with one inquiry. I call myself using some restraint and asked for a $6000 CLI on a $35000 income. I got the wait 24 hour message but I just checked the app and saw: Available credit $4500 of $1500 (I'm hoping wording aside that I got an increase to $4500). I'm really happy that my HP wasn't wasted!
Is this CLI tripling normal or something unique to my account?
