You can get a good mortgage with 30% front end and 40% back end.
That is 70% DTI to buy a house! But 15% is required for a credit card? LOL!
I'm pretty sure the 40% on the back end includes the 30%. You don't add them together. So still 40% DTI to buy a house. Most I've ever seen acceptable on a traditional mortgage was like 55%. 70% was in like 2005!
IMHO thats not really a fair comparison either. 99% of people will pay the mortgage and let a credit card go unpaid, and the banks have to consider that.

Well I don’t know. I am at 27.
But 55 or 40 is not 15.
OK. I am done (for 6 months)
Thanks guys.

But I absolutely am saying that ratio requirement is.
You can get a top tier mortgage at 30% front end.
15% total is absurd.
I guess I will see in 6 months what they think of my business.
I really feel your frustration and I get it. People with profiles like mine should't be getting these huge limits but thankfully Navy takes pity on us lol
But I have a feeling in 6 months you will be pleasantly surprised with Navy. I will be watching this thread for your $20K approval 😉

Don’t get me wrong...
I am not mad a those who got great limits.
I am mad I didn’t.
OK. Now I am done.

And with that said, without attempting to derail thread any further, lets not make anybody feel bad, unworthy or feeling like they need to justify their approvals or limits. Last few pages had plenty of that.
After all, we all used the "Dont compare profiles" cliche plenty

Now you're gonna make me go back and read the last few pages before redactions commence

This is more a preemptive warning before things could escalate. I had directed her here because I needed a second pair of eyes and she deemed it enough to give a disclaimer.

Navy limits are a passionate topic, lol. I know I've been getting pretty frustrated about them lately. Now that I got my letter from them, I'm cool.

+1
It's fine to be passionate (and disappointed when things don't happen as quickly as we think it should) but we need to be careful about making progress into a "... contest" if you know what I mean.
Having been on both sides of the measuring stick I know first-hand how frustrating it can be, especially when people with profiles percieved to be weaker than your own get markedly better results.
I'll make this contribution... while we have a good idea of what their algorithm "likes" and "dislikes" there are still outliers all throughout this thread... the oft-repeated "past performance is no guarantee of future results" definitely applies here. One thing is fairly certain, though... patience seems to really pay off.
Finally, keep in mind that sometimes when people posts about their disappointment they just want to vent. While a small minority of folks are clearly in denial about their own situation and need a dose of "tough love" that doesn't apply to everyone. Sometimes people just want to share the details of their denial (or less than desired approval) along with the data points... we don't want to run those folks off.
