NFCU knows that I am totally unprofitable for them. I have two cards and hardly ever use them because I have a wallet full of cards that I do use and I’m constantly adding more. There is no real incentive for NFCU to extend me any more credit and I totally get that.
In your case, you have a much better shot of being profitable to them. As long as your DTI is in line, I don’t see them having a problem with extending you more credit on a second card and likely a third as well as long as you don’t cap their internal limit for you.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I hope for the best! My DTI is pretty much as it was (maybe a little better). My sixth card did post to my credit report, though (a Shell gas card). I hope that won't make a huge difference...
I really don’t think you have anything to be concerned about. I certainly wouldn’t stress about it at all.

I will be applying next week at my second 91/3 for a third card I need to confirm do they now pull Equifax ? Since I see they pulled for your Equifax they always pull for me TransUnion for new applications
It’s important for me to know because my Equifax is not the best my Trans Union is 729
They can pull any of them. They even pull Experian sometimes. Generally new cards are TU though.
like we always say, it's better than nothing. now it's time for u to show NFCU what you're all about. I guarantee you after 3/91 come they will approve you for a monster sl .mark my word
@Anonymous wrote:You've been approved for a Navy Federal More Rewards American Express Card with a credit limit of $1000.00. Your APR is 14.99%.
not what I was expecting.
Is recon possible? This'll make the $3k spend bonus more fun I guess lol.
Congratulations on the approval!
As for recon, it’s rarely successful. That $1K will grow if you treat it properly.
Your DTI based on the given stats is about 21-23% by the way ($750 rent + $25-$105 in credit card minimum payments / $3733 monthly income).

Thinking it'll solely be my gas card, averaging $100-$150 a month in spend; which will be paid in full. Is that treating it properly?

It is indeed but you have that SUB to hit too.
Just use the card and pay your bill is what I mean. No need to baby a NFCU card.

Just got an alert from credit karma, they also pulled my EQ.. uh oh.. I have 5 inquiries on there vs the 2 on my TU.
How does your DTI look?
Sareen helped me with this the other week, I can't remember.. but I take home $44,800 before tax, $750 in rent, $500ish in bills/mo and $550ish-$600 in debt out of my $4,275 credit line.
You mention TCL $4,275, but an 8/16 thread in the Approvals forum you indicated a 5/3 TRIO approval? Was that a fluke or true event?

I received an AA letter a few days after due to none other than Chexsystem.
Ouchies. Sounds like some ChexSystems stuff is still following you around, unfortunately. At any rate, thanks for the update and congrats on the Navy approval. I thinkyyou'll like the More Rewards. And, echoing what others have already mentioned, once you develop a good relationship with Navy, the doors will certainly open up.

Yeah... 5/3 said come back after the Chexsystems negative deletes/removes in 2021, that I had perfect 'new/young person' credit that they look for.. Oh well - now i'm not even going to touch PNC with a 12 foot pole.
Hoping so too! Thanks!

Ok Interesting I didn’t know that you can expect a pool on experian for a new application also with navy
It’s rare but not unheard of.
