@Merc1776 wrote:Thank you good insight yeah csr may be hit or miss the one I was talking to litterally said you can apply for CLI at any time and never heard of that "rule" yet when I did some indepth research directly from NFCU website there was a "fine print" notion that they do want to see at least "3 on time payments" before consideration. So when many say 91 days 3 full statements it is in alignment with what NFCU is say just in more detail which is always good. I know that I was about 94 days and had from what the CSR said at least 3 full statements. If I get something in mail I will let it be known. If for some reason I dont get anything I am about 14 days from next statement which could just do a re-do.
Thank you all VM from your insights
I know the CSR said you had had three full statements, but CSRs are notorious for being misinformed (at any financial institution, not singling out NFCU) or simply not knowing their own rules. The way to check for yourself is to go back to that first statement and make sure it was at least 25 days long in the billing cycle. If it was any less, then it wasn't a full statement.
On 9th day got a letter in mail "reached NFCU Max unsecured credit limit" so its no-go. Some data points they did use "equifax" on the sp. My eq fico 9 was +741. My starting limit was $4200 for Plat card.
I open a checking-savings up at BECU at the start of the week, and funded it so once I get the card in mail will look to get one of their low apr% cards.

Huh. Thanks for the DP! So it seems they DO use EQ9 for CLIs at least.
Yeah it may be just the way the wind was blowing that day lol yet in the letter they said it was "based on that"
@Anonymous wrote:Odds of NFCU approving a credit card after being approved on 2/07 for an auto loan that just posted on my account today?
Or... garden?
@Anonymous, I think the answer lies in, how bad do you really need the card?
You could always roll the dice, just a HP. Seem to be plenty of those to go around
Disclosure: Credit could be addictive
I thought my DPs might help others, you've all made this much better for me.
so today I made my 91/3 and as you advised so wisely, I applied 1st for cash rewards card--instant approval $20,000 SL went and requested increase of $9,000 on my GoRewards, under review.
Funny thing, before I applied I took a look to see if Navy had any Pre-qual offers for me, just one the nRewards 🤣, figured what the heck let's try for real. Glad I did!
since my 11/23/20 account opening with Navy, I've been approved:
$1k Amex Hilton
$2,500 BBVA
$1,500 increase w/o asking Cap 1
$3,000 Navy GoRewards
ive been using the Go card as my driver with a balance as high as $2,800 highest but PIF until last month used it to put a down payment on a suv for my son, transferring $2,000 over to the new BBVA
So at app:
$300 in Navy Checking
$200 in Navy Savings
$2,000 of $2,500 balance BBVA
$800 of $3,000 balance Navy
Amex, Credit one $1,900, Cap1 all zero
Thank you thank you thank you! Spreading the love ❤️, Navy Love baby!!!
@CaptRon, Well Done .. Congratulations!
Update; this morning I received a message from Navy wanting proof of income. I sent the paystubs requested and will follow up as I find out either way on this CLI .
on a side note I'm wondering if and when they approve and since they have proof of income ($72k/year) if it would be a good time to app for a CLOC?
standing by
