@Anonymous wrote:NFCU will want an HP for each app and you may not be able to PC the card for a year. PCs with NFCU are not new accounts, they just change the account number.
The HP for each App is my experience as well and what they told me. No mysteries here. TG. 🙏🏻 NFCU is very honorable and above board about this. Doesn't try to half conceal it. 🙏🏻

To piggy back off of @Anonymous ' suggestion, @Jazee I would just apply for the More Rewards too, but I'd get the $250 sign up bonus done first and then product change to the Flagship if your limit is $5000. Might as well get that free money!I keep forgetting about the SUB. If the CRA file doesn't treat the PC as a new account opening, then I'm golden on that strategy. Thanks!
You're welcome!

Signs point to no, per @fsalsa2.
Started a thread about applying for WF Visa Sig, one of my more sought after cards, and was advised to wait until January 2022 at earliest. Since WF will pull EX and I now know I should wait that long, I pulled the trigger on NFCU More Rewards. Here's some stats:

I know this thread is huge, and we have some newer visitors, so i wanted to put this up so that maybe it will help with questions...
Navy is the best CU ever (as if we on here didn't know that) lol
1. Navy is mostly concerned with DTI and history w/them for approvals, not inq, util or score sensative.
Dirty profiles can be approved, and if your DTI is in check or really low, you could get a large SL... YMMV
Clean profiles tend to get lower APR's, and higher incomes do tend to start with better SL's provided DTI in check.
Eligibilty - Armed services (active or veterans) Immediate family (mom/dad, bro/sis, or grandparent) aunt/uncle not elig. Sponsored by a member of Navy, Backdoor thru Navy league currently closed.
2. Navy uses Fico9. As far as pulls, most commonly we see TU for new cards, and EQ for CLI's and new loan pulls. Fico is refreshed on the website around the 4th-7th of each month, and the SP was done at the end of the previous month. EX is rare, and only if they can not access the other 2.
3. You can have a maximum of 3 cards with Navy, spread out by 91/3 for approval (maybe 6 months if dirty profile) Max limit is 50k per card, except Flagship which is 80k
4. All the card have the same underwriting to get approved for, Only exceptions is that Flagship has a Min 5k SL
5. CLI requests are eligible at 91/3, unless you have been approved for one then it is 180 days. Any CLI request over 25k has a greater potential to be asked for POI. We are starting to see a lot of SP CLI's, not sure how long that will last. Old saying for Navy is expect the HP, be happy if it's an SP.
6. Each card is seperate, so provided it's been 91/3 or 180 if approved, you can ask for a CLI on all your cards same day
How mucn you get will depend on DTI/history, and how much your internal limit with them is. (no they will not tell us what that number is, so you just have to ask for what you want and see what happens)
7. CLOC (checking line of credit) is a loan product, so it will most likely pull EQ. Most never have to use it for it to show on your reports.
It is nice to have the overdraft protection, but will cost you an HP, so decide wisely.
8. Auto/Home Mostly the same with DTI/History being the main factors. Please reach out in those sub-forums for more info.
Look forward to hearing of all your Navy successes, and we are here to help with your questions too
Coool.
Now that's what I'm talkin' about.

- Became NFCU member September 2020, swapped direct deposit immediately, most of paycheck goes there
- First NFCU card October 2020 - Platinum - $20k SL, automatic CLI to $24k after two full statement cycles
- Second NFCU card - March 2021 - More Rewards - $21.7k SL
- Pulled TU - most recent known score TU FICO 8: 744, will update when I find out what they pulled which I believe will be TU FICO 9
That's a fantastic approval!
The MR is a great card have. It's been my daily driver for the past 6 months.
Enjoy that CC and nice SUB!
Congrats 👏

The More Rewards is a nice get 👌
Congratulations on your approval!
Could you share with us (you may have done so in the past)... was your spending like on the Platinum during the first 90 days upon account opening?
Had my last TU collection just fall off and score got boosted up so just apped for Platinum, instant approval! 25k@5.99% to go along with Flagship (29k), MR (7k).
I'm wondering if they'll let me transfer 20k from Flagship to Platinum right after getting approved? My plan is to get that to 50k when it's all said and done so I can be my own bank so to speak with the around 15k cash advance @7.99%. Nobody in the industry is touching that kind of CA rate...

Do you mind sharing your data points and history? What other cards do you have? How long have you been with NFCU? I want to apply for the flagship card so bad! It just seems like a far cry! I just got approved the same day opening an account with them for the cash rewards card $1k SL.. I have a pretty thick credit profile my scores are around 700 across all 3 bureaus.. but I have the worst luck with high limit cards my highest limit card is a capital one and that's $1,900... I have an Amex card and even that is only $1,000 it just seems like I'll never get above $1,000 credit limit on a VISA card.. I have store cards with high limits but no VISA or master card.. I have over 15 open revolving credit card accounts,, an auto loan an installment loan so my file is nice and thick I just can't beat this $1,000 SL.. I gave NFCU a shot because I read they give outstanding credit limits and even with them I get a $1,000 SL.. I just don't get it.. should I try for the flagship card come my 91/3?
