@ficobuilder923 - just FYI. NFCU's cap is $80K, not $85K. Flagship maxes out at $80K, and the cap on the others is $50K.
So I've got another silly question, but I don't think I've seen it asked or answered here.
When requesting a CLI, I know they use TU9 as well now, but is it a fresh SP, or is it using an old SP?
@FinStar Is it possible that they changed it recently? I thought the same thing but the rep definitely said 85k across all cards because I asked him what the limit was.
I have to call them again today, I'll update what the rep says when I ask again.

@ficobuilder923 - If they reduced the maximum CLI amounts given the current economic environment when compared to pre-pandemonic levels, it would seem illogical they would raise the maximum unsecured cap for CCs across the board especially when the CLOC (a favorite product for the MF crowd) recently changed for new applications. Plus, there haven't been any recent outliers reporting breaking that barrier. I'd chalk it up to an agent likely being misinformed.
Otherwise, let's see who can break >$80K?
@Anonymous wrote:@CaptRon Thank you so much for the response. If I were to guess it would be that you were asked for POI because of the family business connection.
IME the "max exposure" denial reason has just meant that Navy wants me to get some additional relationship history before they extend more credit. Last time I received that reason, I tried again after a couple of months (2-3) and had success.
They can be slow sometimes to review documents and you can definitely call and ask about status and if there is anything else they need for a decision.
If for any reason your new card maxed out your current opportunity for a CLI, just give it a few months and try again.
My fingers are still crossed that you will get the Covid 4K CLI though! Watching for your update! Have a great day ahead!😁
So my letter came today concerning this CLI, as some may not be aware I got approved for $20k cashrewards 1st then apped for CLI of $9k on my 1st NavyFederal card (morerwards) at 92 days & 3 statements. I've attached the letter as LeilanaS (Aloha) & I were discussing the increase max limit, which from reading the letter I believe LeilaniS nailed it. Surprised the pulled EQ on the CLI and used their own internal score (320 I had a separate letter for it) on my CashRewards app 🤷🏻♂️. Anyway for those that want the full DP's go look at page 1640 back a bit as this thread is a damned race horse rolling right along.
Sorry it was straight when I uploaded it 🤦♂️
thanks everybody 🕺🏻

@Anonymous wrote:lol yeah. True as long as we are getting the approved. It is SP for the CLI right? Thank you in advance.
@Anonymous .. Yes, "SP" .. "IF" you request by phone app or online web page.
By phone, most likely a HP
Wrinkle in that theory of SP according to this letter, although I haven't had it show up yet on a myFico alert so not sure. I used the mobile app and will keep an eye out for the alert. On another note, what's the free credit report site good until April please anyone?
Thank y'all!

Hey, Navy uses Equifax for limit increases but uses Transunion for new card applications. I think this was still a soft pull unless an inquiry ends up hitting your report. When I've asked for limit increases they've always used Equifax but I have not gotten an actual hard inquiry. I've gotten 4 CLI's so far.
Hello all,
I've got a question or two that hopefully somebody can answer. My 91 days since being approved for my first Navy card was within the last 5 days or so. I also noticed I recieved an auto CLI of $4,000 at approximately the same time. However, I have not had 3 full statements. Only two and a partial so far. I guess I'm wondering if anybody has ever received an auto CLI before 91 days and 3 full statements and that it was indicative of that person being eligible to apply for their second card even though the 3rd full statement hadn't passed yet. I was planning on applying after the 3rd statement but I may or may not choose to apply sooner if the above mentioned means that I am eligible now as my reports/scores will likely have a drop (although very minor) between now and the 3rd statement cutting. If I'm eligible now and the ever so slightly better report will give me a better apr and such, I might lean towards apping sooner. I feel I read somewhere in this thread or the other Navy one, that had some posts from members with similar experiences/circumstances but I can't seem to find anything in search and would take me a month or more to reread everything. If anybody can help or shed some light on any of these things, it would be greatly appreciated.
