Hello all,
I've got a question or two that hopefully somebody can answer. My 91 days since being approved for my first Navy card was within the last 5 days or so. I also noticed I recieved an auto CLI of $4,000 at approximately the same time. However, I have not had 3 full statements. Only two and a partial so far. I guess I'm wondering if anybody has ever received an auto CLI before 91 days and 3 full statements and that it was indicative of that person being eligible to apply for their second card even though the 3rd full statement hadn't passed yet. I was planning on applying after the 3rd statement but I may or may not choose to apply sooner if the above mentioned means that I am eligible now as my reports/scores will likely have a drop (although very minor) between now and the 3rd statement cutting. If I'm eligible now and the ever so slightly better report will give me a better apr and such, I might lean towards apping sooner. I feel I read somewhere in this thread or the other Navy one, that had some posts from members with similar experiences/circumstances but I can't seem to find anything in search and would take me a month or more to reread everything. If anybody can help or shed some light on any of these things, it would be greatly appreciated.
@Sharpism, Wait for your 3rd FULL statement, or you will have a instant denial and a wasted HP.
Thanks @M_Smart007 .Very much appreciated.
@OmarGB9 wrote:So I've got another silly question, but I don't think I've seen it asked or answered here.
When requesting a CLI, I know they use TU9 as well now, but is it a fresh SP, or is it using an old SP?
@OmarGB9, I cannot be 100% sure, it is my guess for CLI's, they use the most recent SP on file.
@Anonymous, might be able to correct me, if I am wrong?
@Sharpism, You are welcome.

If that is the case, then my follow up question would be when do they do their SPs? Is it the one when they give our FICO score?

@OmarGB9, Yes!

They only do the one SP at the end of each month AFAIA. Maybe someone can pull their TU report from Annual Credit Report and see if there are more SPs?
Asks this before but hadn't gotten any feedback, so I'm posting again.
Is it still true that one of the best times to apply for a Navy CLI, apart from your 91/3 or 6 months, is to pull the trigger when Navy updates your monthly CS?

If I remember right that goes back to when CLI requests triggered a HP. Data points suggested that if you asked right after they did their SP you might avoid a HP which led to the recommendation. CLI requests now only being a SP obsoletes that rationale.

Thank you for the feedback! It's very much appreciated. Haven't been playing the Navy CLI game for a long long time and wanted to know if that old DP was still in effect.
