@M_Smart007 wrote:@spiritcraft1, IMHO .. The longer you can wait, the better the odds of a higher SCL,
Due to the fact, in waiting .. you may not hit the "Navy max internal limit" that they are willing to grant you.
Good Luck and may the odds be in your favor!
How long do you think? I have only applied for 1 card in the last 14 months or so, that 3rd NFCU card denial in November day after a CLI.
I will have a very itchy finger when my TU score massively jumps.
Whenever you are eligble go for it. This world isnt getting any saner so fico it get your Navy Jones while you can
.
My 6 months is up in May and im shooting for a triple whipple. All 3 cards are getting requests. I might very well be at endgame but if i dont try ill never know. Locked reports make it as safe as possible
. I want to be the first poor person with a 50k limit😆🙋♂️
Sorry to butt in...but what is this about locked reports making it safe as possible??
So what if i want to app for second card before Cli...do i unfreeze then refreeze all 3??

Yes, you would need to unfreeze because Navy does not do sp approvals on new credit accounts. Good thing is more than likely will not receive 2 hps on a app plus cli request. But if it worries you, apply for your card and then refreeze, wait for your results then apply for cli.
Correct, you will have to unfreeze your TU to app for a 2cd NFCU card, the new 2cd card will be a HP. If you do the CLI for 1st card online it will be a SP.

@spiritcraft1 wrote:Since TU will fully clean up first, hopefully in 12 days or so, I would like to go for that 3rd NFCU card (4th try). I failed last time since I tried right after a CLI and got the max unsecured letter.
This time, after my last derog drops on TU, I should be in the 800 TU 09 range, with DTI <7%, 1% UTI and 1 TU INQ in the last year. I have no new cards in a year and my highest CL is $12.2 K on my Flagship. Income should support the max they usually give out but I know there are zero sure things. This will be my first app in the attempt to reshuffle the deck and obtain some higher limit cards and would like to finally nail it with that 3rd card.
The question is how long is long enough after a successful CLI? I received a 2.5K increase on my Flagship on the 1st of April. How long should I wait to increase the likelihood of a larger SL? I will likely go for a CR and if I get a larger limit, I will transfer most to my Flagship at some point. Any thoughts are appreciated.
No magic to it, 6 months after a successful cli. Good luck
Are you saying to wait 6 months after a CLI to apply for a new card?

@spiritcraft1, I personally think that, you do not have to wait 6 months, although waiting a little longer does increase your odds,
of a better SCL ... Hence "Not hitting Max internal limit" ... JMO
Good Luck and may the odds be in your favor!

No, sorry for confusion. 6 months after a successful credit limit increase. One can apply a cc whenever they wish though depending on certain variables, may or may not get approved
.

6th time the charm? They spoiled me with my last approval for a CC. That was the Flagship for $8.2k with a 590 F09 score in December of 2018. Since, it has been an instant "no soup for you" and 5 HP's just so I remember. When TU clears, I will try once again.
