Yes it is.

"I think it is so weird that they do a HP when you get a person to help." Maybe its some form of automatic system that bypasses the human intervention that requires a hard trigger when requesting increase in limits. I don't know just sayin.
That news is awesome though.
Thought!?!?!? .. maybe they are trying to discourage having their phone lines tied up?

Ok so I am at 93/3 about to apply for second card. I payoff balance 5 days before cycle. But right now I have used about 55% of my available credit on my cash reward card. Do they see that when they pull the credit for my second card?
Should I wait to apply after I pay it off in a week?

Her credit score on the letter was 789.
I was pretty surprised, however when I looked at her account I found that the card was over its limit by about $20 when the CLI was requested. I am guessing this is the actual reason for the denial. What statment had cut when you were denied. What was your credit score at that time. Do you bank with NFCU, do you have direct deposit?
So DW 7th Statement cut yesterday on her cashRewards Visa. Planning a famly trip and needing a bigger limit card decided to app for the More Rewards card today. Prequal site showed her approved so we went for it. Auto approved for $11,000 at 12.99%! Too bad the SUB went down, now only $100 instead of $250 but may consider product change to Flagship for travel anyway.
Congrats on the new card and the big SL.
Decided to try again on the CLI on her cashRewards requested $10,000 got the 24hr notice it is currently showing a $1.03 credit and put about $184 on the card in the past month.
Congratulations on DW's More Rewards approval! Best wishes on the limit increase request!
Pretty sure we are not getting the CLI on the cashRewards still no change on the account - Don't go over your limit and make sure if you do it doesn't report!
In answer to the above: The first denial for CLI was on 5th Statement cut, Reported Balance $1019.63 (Limit is $1000), ( April Bal -.60 $1070.24 activity, May Bal -1.03 with $183 activity) Score was mentioned in the 1st denial letter sent 789, she has a Checking and Savings and doesn't really use either but has minimal funds in each no Direct Deposit. Again what appears to now be the third denial for CLI the same day she was approved for a new moreRewards @$11,000. Lesson learned
I'm past 91/3, I submitted a CLI request to get my NFCU card to an even number. I completed the form and it popped up a message that it was being sent somewhere then I got an error message and was logged out. Is this normal with NFCU on the CLI, do you usually get an instant approval or denial? I don't want to re-submit the request, but I'm not sure if it actually went through.

Yes, that error message seems to be a thing. I got one last week and then saw the CLI come through a couple days later.

That is awesome how NFCU came through.

@MickeyGMoney wrote:I've seen a lot of very recent posts here state that Navy now does soft pulls if you request a CLI online. I'm wondering still whether it's soft or hard. Their site (https://www.navyfederal.org/resources/articles/personal-finance/credit-limit-increase.html) says "it will create a 'hard inquiry' on your credit history."
Is it 100% soft pull to request a CLI online?
Great question, I wonder if it is a pandemic thing. Reading the post, I have only seen SP of late.
They made the change to SP CLIs about 2 years ago although the pre-pandemic SP CLI cap was set at $8K.
Hey everyone! Does NFCU provide any sort of communication if they deny a CLI? I opened a Go Rewards in 12/2019 with a $900 CL. On 4/2020 they approved me for a Flagship with a CL of 25K. I have never requested a CLI on either card, been in the garden, and my fico scores have gone up quite a bit since my last approval (high 700s, low 800 across the board). Income, spending, DTI ratio has all stayed the same.
I requested the CLI on the Go Rewards Sunday night and nothing has happened either way. I'm okay if I am at the max they want to give me across all cards, I am just hoping for definitive yes/no on the CLI. Their site and other posters have stated it usually takes 1-2 days for a decision. Should I just assume the CLI was denied? Will they send a letter through my account or snail mail? The funny thing is, while I know their preapprovals should be taken with a grain of salt, it does say I am approved for all of their cards.
