So I have a question and scenario..
I was approved for a cash rewards card for $1,000 SL on 3/7/21 my scores are in the low 700s I've always had trouble getting approved for big limits that's why I went with navy fed because they are known for high limits.
ive been using the card religiously every month maxing it out and paying it in full before the due date.
I bank with PNC "full time" but have been using navy fed and their products! I take $365 a week from my pay check and have my employer deposit it in my navy fed account and the rest of my pay in my PNC, I've made multiple deposits in my navy fed account in cash and with checks. I keep on average $8,000 in my account since I opened it.
My 91/3 is coming up officially June 4th! I am super hyped but I'm a little nervous..
about a month ago I applied for a personal loan just randomly on a whim.. I applied for $8,000 and got instantly approved i also applied for their business banking and set up a business account with my LLC.. my question is will this screw with my 91/3? Will it mess with my second card I plan to apply for on June 4th? Since getting the personal loan I've made the first months payment a month early and they have auto drafted the second payment out a few days ago.. so I'm very much indulged in their services..
I want the flagship card, with my current sting with navy fed with the heavy credit card usage, direct deposits, personal loans, checked cashed and setting up business banking would I still be eligible for a CLI and a second card in 11 days? Or did it burn it when I applied for the personal loan a month ago?
I took a $7k PL and a card (they gave me a $1k Plat) in my first half hour of membership. Got a CLI to $3k on 91/3. Waited a month to let my TU report lose its last derog and go clean, and apped for a cashRewards at around 130/4. Instant approval at $25k. I had a balance on my Plat at the time, and my loan was ahead by around six weeks.
Sounds very similar to your situation although I only had a few hundred in my checking there. I also have part of my check direct-deposited at Navy.
Hopegully your experience will be similar in outcome to mine

That is the hope I needed!!! Thank you so much! How heavy was yours usesge of the card? What were your scores/inquiries at the time you applied for the second card?
I still haven't apped again for a second card from Navy, I was gardening since last July before pulling the trigger on hitting 5/24 with my Chase app Sunday night. Still thinking of whenever I get to it it'll be for the Platinum for if a situation arises where I need to do a BT. Aside from that the most interesting thing I see right now is the Flagship waiving the fee the first year and crediting a year of Amazon Prime. Still the most appealing aspect is the potentially massive initial credit limit.

@Anonymous , Everything in my signature is pretty steady these days - scores and usage within a couple points of what it shows right now. I had probably put around a grand through the Plat in the time between approval for it and approval for the cR. I believe 9 HPs on TU at the time, six of which were scorable.
Obviously everyone's profile is unique and one person's results can't be assumed for another, but Navy seems more interested in product use and behavior than other factors, so I'm hoping similar behaviors net you similar results
I just wanted to confirm, if the website doesn't offer you a credit increase and you have to click the 'increase my limit' link and enter income, etc., that will be a hard pull, not a soft pull CLI application correct?
Will be a soft pull for right now cuz of pandemic I'd lock all reports then as for increase that way no hard pull
For awhile now online and app requests have been SP. Calling in to ask is much more likely to be a HP.
*** NFCU Mega-Thread Announcement ***
In the coming hours/days, a new thread will be started to discuss NFCU credit limit increases and additional cards, and this thread will be closed to new posts.
It's been a good run, but at 17k+ posts it's become a bit unwieldy, and many of the data points from earlier in the thread no longer apply. Rather than advise new members to "skip to the last few pages" of the thread for relevant information it's more appropriate to simply start over.
Many thanks to the dedicated members who have kept this thread going, tirelessly answering questions about NFCU cards as well as sharing your own experiences and data points! We all look forward to your continued participation on the upcoming new thread.
Once the new thread has been established a link to it will be posted here and this thread will be locked.
Finally, big thanks and shout-out to @Creditaddict for starting this thread way back in 2014!
