I hit the CLI button for the first time since I opened my cash rewards, roughly 1 year ago. Went from 11.8k to 25k limit.

I didn't get the instant approval or counter but instead got the 24 hour wait message. I kept checking my account all day to see if I had a message or a limit increas and didn't get either until about 3am this morning. So when they say 24 hours I guess they mean it. Anyway onto the good stuff. I didn't get the $25k max, but thats okay and I wasn't expecting it, but I am very happy with the bump I did get. I went from $5500 to $16k on my first CLI. Thanks for all the info on this thread. It gave me the confidence to pull the trigger.
Also congrats to all the other people here that are getting nice CLI's as well.
Was this HP or SP?
Unfortunately it was a HP from EQ, but I'll take it none the less.

Has anyone successfully applied for a second card after a CLI? I may app for one later this year after the November AR.
I suppose I might be willing to guinea pig this as I just got a bump. Any words of wisdom? My main drawback to this is that I do have quite a few HPs currently, but what's one more when most of them will dissapear soon anyway.

Well be careful there. I have a lot myself and about 8 will fall off in August this year for me. If yours are falling off soon just let them before applying. They used to let you move some of your first limit if you were denied for a second card. That's over now.
Too late I already applied.
Not sure yet of the outcome I got the 24 hour wait notice pending review.

@ Misk Good luck, let us know how it goes.
I have the Cash Rewards card since June 16. Went from 1k to 25k, it is my main card. I use it everyday to pay for everything (Why not get something back and I PIF every week or 2).
I notice a lot of people looking to get a second (or third) card and the CLOC. Is there any great advantage to having a second card and/or the CLOC?
I like cash back, so points etc don't thrill me and I wouldn't use it much.
As for the CLOC it would never get used. Been though BK once, the thought of spending money that I don't have never thrilled me, now it scares the crap out of me.

Thank you and I will absolutely come back and pass on how it goes.

I have the Platinum and applied for the Cash Rewards. I am not really sure what made me apply for the platinum since I PIF every month and my intrest rate wasn't all that great on it.

I am applying for a second card for two reasons.
1) I am fine with the ding to my credit at the moment as I just completed buying the house that set me on the whole credit repair journey in the first place (not that I will ever let it get bad again) and I see people here were curious and so am I now.
2) I am totally fine in the long run with increasing my available credit and lowering my DTI. It can only help in the long run.

I am with you there and thats what made me decide to go for the Cash Rewards this time.

I feel very fortunate that I never had bankruptcy, but all the credit scares the crap out of me too because I have been terrible with it in the past. I have the CLOC and have had it since I joined NFCU. It never gets used and only EX counts it towards my available credit total so in that respect it is kind of useless, but if I am ever in some unforseen extreme bad shape it is good to know that I can write a check and it isn't going to bounce.

Yup...the extra security that the CLOC provides is the main reason I got it. I've used it once since I gotten it just to see how to tap into it.
