Navy Federal Thread for CLI and Additional Cards

In my humble opinion, no matter when your 91 day falls, at least let 3 official statements cut before a cli request. This way you know you have 3 months history built up. I'd also recommend using the card and making good payments or pif so as to establish you can pay and be trusted with more.

Timing near AR can help to so if an ARis a couple weeks after your 91/3, might wait just for that extra help on account review. This is my quick guide for NAVY FOR DUMMIES, lol.plesse dont get offended that's a ref to those crazy books

Umm, was my case different?

I got my first CC with them on 10/2017, CLI on 4/2018 and second card two days ago.

You were way pass 91/3, you can always do more but can never do less...Unless you're a Credit Card Whisperer like @Peghede, than anything is possible lol

lol...for some reason i was thinking that i had to wait 91 days for my 2nd card AFTER my CLI. Cool!!

On exactly day 91 (12:35AM) I applied and was approved my 2nd card AMEX 20k limit but no CLI. I’m okay with that!

Yup Navy is a weird one. When in doubt if you'll get a cli on existing card , just app a new card haha.

Anyone have any tips on getting a third card?  I just got approved for second card but doesnt hurt to plan ahead.

@Anonymous - I would recommend waiting at least 6 months from your 1st CC. Keep in mind DTI and internal exposure with NAVY would be factored into the approval and SL on the 3rd CC. Of course, any outcome would be YEMV.

Jwest22 u said they declined u for the cli but approved for the second card what was the reason for the decline?
