After getting a pre-selected letter from Cap One stating they'd recently looked at my credit report and deemed me creditworthy, I filled out the application last night for the card they'd offered and was immediately denied. Stated a letter with reason would be coming to me in the mail. Right before apping with them, I had just been approved in the same 5 minutes by Bank of America.
Today I got an e-mail with PDF letter for their reason for Denial. They stated "insufficient income" which baffled me because my income is in the top 10% bracket. I think I messed up because I did the apps so quickly that I didn't add the last 3 0's to my income so instead of $ ---,---.00, I merely put ---.00. The denial was just last night and I don't want to take the three hard pulls for basically a clerical error. I desperately want to recon this but don't have faith in going through the frontline CSR's.
So, can anybody please help me out and give me the Executive offices phone number or e-mail address so that I can hopefully address the mistake and hopefully end up with an approval and not have 3 hard pulls in vain???
Don't know if anyone can can IM me as I'm not sure how many posts you need for that or if someone could jump in and leave it on this thread.
Thanks in advance to anybody that can help me out with this total slip on my part.
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles!
I'm still a bit new here but from what I know you email the EO and they get back to you with a contact number and whatnot. I don't have the information personally and I don't believe we're allowed to post it.
If no-one can get it to you google Capital One EO. I saw quite a few good searches that have the email contact info listed. Hope this helps and good luck!
The EO is not hard to get a hold of. I think I sent an email and received a call in about 16 hours. (In other words, next day). They were completely unable to help me but your situation seems like one they could help with.

Pm me eo number as well please
Call a basic capital one rep and they should be able to help you. No need to call the EO unless it's your last resort. You might have to verify your income when you call and they should still be able to review your most recent inquiry to evaluate the decision. Good luck

I actually don't know how to PM or if I have enough posts to do so. Will give it a shot though. Thanks.
