I have 7/24 and just got approved for it.
Did it specifically say more than 5 new accounts in the last 24 months in the Adverse Action letter? I got approved and I am way way way over.

Actually, the denials never say anything about the 5 part of 5/24. Just "too many accounts in the last 24 months". Chase very rarely officially states the entire "5/24".

I just got the card a few days ago and I'm way way way over 5/24... something like 25/24

ehh, People can always get the Synch card for the 5%, not a problem. Not like we are going to rush out to Churn the $70 (or whatever the bonus is).
Now if they gave UR's... wooooooooot.
Has your friend opened an excessive number of accounts? I'm 100% over 5/24, not by a lot, but definitely over. Maybe Chase feels like they have had too much credit recently extended to them.
You guys are right, she interpreted the denial reason wrong. It does not say 5/24 but too many recent inquiries.
Not subject to 5/24. But Chase does not like tons of inquiried, or so many new applications or new CCs.
