I decided to pull the trigger on Lowes a few weeks ago and got shot down immediately. Of course I called them to ask for a recon and they wouldn't budge. I waited 2 weeks and called back again, and the guy I talked to told me I would have to submit another ap because too much time had passed for recon. So I went to the Lowes website and resubmitted the ap and was auto denied again. When the denial letter hit my mailbox it said denied because I had applied to recently, and my credit was not pulled a second time.
If that was the case, why couldn't I recon? Any ideas?
I want that Lowes card bad...I am a junkie.
How old are your accounts? Your TU score is great, but your high credit and types of accounts seem weak.
Yeah...they are weak indeed. I just started rebuilding this summer. Ive had the Cap1 for almost a year, the Merrick for 6 months, and all the others are 1-2 month old babies. I racked up quite a few inquires (now totaling 19 TU, 18EQ, and 11 EX) during that spree also, so I think I'm headed off to the garden to heal and season these accounts.
I tried with AMEX, CITI, BofA and Discover to no avail. Also tried NFCU and PENFED...all I got out of it was a $500 Line of Credit with PENFED.
I also have one Charge Off with First Premier from 2012 and one with GM Financial from 2012 also that I need to eliminate. Maybe after I get rid of those and season my accounts a bit, then I can get some better players on my team.

Agreed. I would wait until those new accounts age a year, then do another app spree. Congrats on your great progress.
The competitor in me made me do it. I had give one more stab at getting that Lowes before I went to the garden. One HP, and two phone calls later my wish was finally granted. Now I'm in with Lowes, but approved for $700 SL.
It 'll grow.
I apped like 9 months before and was denied, scores built up a little and apped again got the $300 limit, at 5k now a year or so later.
