Does someone know how long I have to wait with this new Amex card before they take me out of the popup jail?
Check your no ding decline on the Hilton Honors card. Maybe you're already out. I've read reports of people getting out right after getting approved for a no AF card. I think it was an Amex core card, not cobranded. So of course YMMV.
I applied for the Hilton Honors card and it said: "you are not eligible to receive the welcome offer", so I cancelled my application.

If I want the Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus Card, I have to wait until September 2026 to apply. I'm going to try to wait all this time before applying for a new credit card. I guess that's what happens to credit card churners at some time.

That absolutely blows. If your not getting the value for it currently, you shouldn't have to pay an AF to keep it and be in "good standing"

For sure, it just seems to be how Amex operates. They really wanted to push the Platinum as a primary card, so they offered huge SUBs that were taken advantage of pretty hard. They were giving away like 150k and up in MR points for pretty minimal spend requirements, and people gamed the heck out of it. They've always been known to prefer long term deeper relationships with their cardholders versus the card churners.
It kinda sucks certain people get caught in the cross fire but I can see where they're coming from. They're not forcing people to pay multiple AFs just to remain Amex cardholders... they're just removing the ability to receive SUBs while still allowing the account to be opened. They look at the potential card churners as not profitable so their approach seems to be working for their bottom line.
Card Churners are the people to blame here...
