No apps while waiting for Chase?

I got the 30 day message on a Freedom Unlimited app Monday.  I immediately called the robo line and it said 2 weeks.  Good sign, I hope.

They pulled my EXP yesterday at 774 (I'm in MA).  I have one Chase product, a CSP that started at $14K.  Chase incremented it twice over the past year to $18.5K.  Current balance is $1400, previous statement balance was $280 (the statement before that it was $15K, but I paid it off in one payment).

Is there risk to do another bank app while waiting the 2 weeks for Chase?  I was thinking of DiscoverIt app that I'm pre-approved for (with a fixed rate, not a range), and/or was thinking about going for a 2nd AmEx since it appears it will be a SP based on pre-approval (and what I read on the forums).

Or should I wait until the Chase decision comes through before doing anything?

There shouldn't be any major risk per se since your Chase application already took the EX hit.  If you're looking to expand your CC portoflio, you can give Discover or AMEX a try and see what that yields.

Thanks.  I was approved for a Discover It -- unfortunately low SL ($7200), but I see Discover can be funny and CLIs are plentiful.

Still debating the AmEx PRG, have been spending a lot on airfare the last few years, but it might slow down with a kid starting college and I've already paid for tickets to Alaska as well as baggage fees, so no immediately benefit.

Re: No apps while waiting for Chase?

No dude go for it it's legit. In January I apped for the CSP and Amazon prime card same day. 2 days later after I knew chase had pulled my report I apped for and was approved for the penfed pathfinder. Didn't affect chase at all, they basically didn't see it since they already pulled the report. I was approved for the CSP without having to do anything, but I had to call recon for the Amazon card. They asked about other accounts I opened recently and even asked me to name the institutions they're from: they very clearly had no idea about penfed.

Re: No apps while waiting for Chase?

I applied for Disco and Chase Amazon signature Visa the same night. I believe I applied for the Disco first. I was approved instantly for Disco. Chase was a 30day message which later turned to 7-10days. They sent me a letter to call them to confirm that I indeed applied for their card. She approved me right then after I did a text verification on my phone. The Amazon Visa has become my daily.
