Alright so I called Chase recon and they told me to go to Experian to dispute the inquiry because they keep saying they only pulled EQ to make the decision, just like how they've always just pulled EQ for my cobranded card applications. I see a lot of potential to get rid of some inquiries that I have from Chase that were probably made in error for the most part like when I tried for the Freedom back in May. I also guess that means that if they're not even gonna use EX
Are you sure it was an internal score?

Yup. That's what I remember. It had its own scoring system distinct from the FICO when I got denied then and it was somewhere in the 620s or so. This time there was just an EQ score on my AA letter.
Update: I decided to call the Chase EO and dispute it with them.
What did they say?

This person I talked to started a case for me and someone will be contacting me within 24-48 hours though I can call them back sooner if want a quicker response.

I applied for the Chase Slate in May, 2014 and they double pulled EX and EQ. I also app'd for the Freedom about 10 days ago, and they double pulled me again. I live in Houston, Texas. I am gardening now, but based on two apps , Chase simply double pull...and I have scores 770+ - go figure!

Again YMMV.
I've only ever had single pull for TWO cards at a time from them. same with AMEX. Luck? Perhaps.
Who knows, they could double pull me next time I go for a Chase card.
I applied for the Chase SW RR Visa a couple of weeks ago and then a few days later, another Chase card. Looking at my report, they double pulled me also but only for the first card. I also live in GA.
Chase can be hard to figure out, i think maybe they double pull if you are border line? With that being said i did get double pulled for CSP, but i hear an lot of people gettign double pulled when applying for travel cards.

Chase SW was one of the cards that I applied for where they only pulled from EQ. The only time they've ever pulled from EX too for me has been for the Freedom card. I guess YMMV depending on where you live.
Also, someone is now looking into my case so I should be hearing back from Chase in the next couple of days.
