Hi everyone! So now that I've had my IMO unlikely success with two successful Chase apps last week, I want to plan for my next app which I can hopefully pull the trigger on around September. I really want to eventually have a hotel rewards card to compliment the airline card. Does anyone have experience with the Chase IHG Mastercard or the Marriott Rewards cards? Wondering which one is the best bang for the buck and what score I should be aiming for before I app? After updates over the weekend, (new CU card started reporting) my scores are EQ 625/TU 630/EX 640. What should I shoot for between now and Sept? Is Chase favorable to opening more credit accounts if you show good behavior with ones they've granted you?
Congrats and good luck!
I'm in the same boat. I think they like to see good history on them for a while. With chase, internal score matters a lot. I just got my Freedom and I'm preapproved for Slate too (starting getting prequals again).
I'm making myself wait because I know they like to see history. Eventually I want CSP. I'll go for Slate down the road, move more of the Slate limit over to Freedom to have over 5k (unless Freedom gets bumped to that on its own - currently 3.5k), and then app even further down the road.

I believe this 100%. They gave me an auto CLI just a little before I hit 6 months with my first Chase card.

Having both saving and checking accs with them pull alot of weight too. Just an idea. Before you apply for new one make sure balances r paid off or atleast below 30 %. Good luck
I do have both my primary checking and savings accounts with Chase and have for about 6 years. I think that may have had a lot to do with me finally getting some credit love. Hopefully once I show them I am a good girl with my new credit cards they'll show me even more love in the future :-)
They're very good to you if you're good to them! I would imagine with your long deposit relationship with them and your new credit history with them, you will have them throw rose petals out in front of your path. Or they'll at least approve you and give you some credit.
I was approved for the Freedom in March for $3k and in April for the Slate for $3.2k. Both very low SLs IMO. I've been banking with Chase forever (since it used to be Washington Mutual in the 00's and before Great Western in the 90's). Have both my personal checking and savings and business checking and savings accounts with them. However, I was denied for the Marriott due to too many inquiries and too many new accounts. My plan is to app again for the Marriott in a year after my internal score with them improves. Currently, I use the Freedom for the categories and PIF. The Slate I used for a BT and have paid back about a 1/4. I will continue to pay it down until the 0% intro BT APR expires. After that, I will probably move most of the Slate limit over to the Freedom and either close the Slate or SD.
On a random note, can anybody tell me how to create one of those fancy signatures? I've actually got some stuff to put in there now LOL
