Hi everyone -
So I got an email from Experian saying that I had a pre-approval offer on the One Main Financial MasterCard. I was wondering if anybody has any experience with that card in particular. The APR is ridiculous at 35.99% and it would be a sock drawer card but thought perhaps I could use it just to add to my overall credit line in total. Anybody know if they're pre-approvals result in a hard inquiry on my credit report? If so then it's a no-go.
I don't know, what are your guys's thoughts on the card? Is it worth adding to the mix just to give me a bit of more credit to my name or name? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you guys
I would be of the opinion that based on your score and the other cards your profile is displaying...unless you really need more credit now...you Pause....
Instead maintain those Cap 1 and the GM Card as both offer SP CLI's and with good account management, you can raise your score and get better options in the future.
I'm of the same opinion to pass on this card, and working on building a better path to more desirable cards using what you have already.

Do not get it. You would be setting yourself back by wasting a hard pull and new account on such a useless card.
Spending $75 a year on a credit card is a waste. OneMain offers go in the trash.
Your scores are not bad. Why would you consider paying for a card? Look at cards that pay you! Save the hard pull for something good.
@Legally_Speaking2512 I would not the annual fee and the rewards are poor
That's solid advice - agreed! Thank you so much for the response and input.💯
Thank you for the input. Yeah I definitely passed on it. Not only that 35.99% is ridiculous
Thank you for the advice. Yeah it's definitely a hard pass for me. I just don't see anything good in that card or any good that can come from it.
