Odds for AMEX PLAT with extremely THIN credit file

First and foremost i would like to say hello to everyone since I'm new here Smiley Happy

anyway here's my situation. (Long post coming)

i am a 25 yr old US citizen who has lived in the Philippines for basically my whole life. I went to the US august 4 of this year with plans of starting a nursing home / board and care business.

i had no idea about what credit is and paid with cash for everything also openned up accounts at WF and CHASE and have been using a debit card for roughly $5000-8000 a month on expenses.

Just october 31 while at chase the banker told me i was pre approved for a slate with SL $1500. Also nov 4 i openned up a secured discover it account and put $1500.
I don't have a job here atm, living With my filipino fiancé (her parents vacation house) no rent and i get sent $5000-8000 a month by my parents for expenses. What are my odds of approval with 1 month credit history? I want a plat because i plan to go to the Philippines probably around 5-6 times a year not to mention domestic flights and the lounges would be nice.

Strictly focusing on your question, go try the Amex pre-approval. That will be a good indicator.

I know that but is there a chance is what i’m thinking. The allowance i get from my parents can i consider that as income?
What if they ask for a tax form. Thanks sir for replying!

I recall reading in an earlier thread where the poster was a college student who had his parents write a statement saying that they supplement their son's income with a monthly allowance.  You can search for this to see if they had success or not.

Re: Odds for AMEX PLAT with extremely THIN credit file

We all know scores aren't the only thing that goes into approvals but OP started in credit last month - with one month of credit and no FICO scores generated, an Amex Platinum is not worth the HP that OP would waste trying for it.

Jesus, who's parents just casually send them 5 to 8 k a month for living expenses?

Am I really the only one curious about this?

Another option is AMEX free credit score (it's Vantage so pay it no attention) website. It updates weekly and after a few weeks, I started getting pre-qualifies through it that I didn't see with their online pre-qualify tool. (for example, I never see the Platinum through their online tool but it shows with the website linked below)
