Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

@lhcole77

Credit unions in general, like to see much lower balances (20% or less - 10% or less ideal) when applying or asking for CLI's than traditional banks and be more lenient with people that have lower credit scores that have low UTI's.

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

Util CL. UTI is not a very nice thing. 😂😂 UTIL is short for utilization.

That's what lhcole was referring to. Lol

Topic Focus is always a nice thing.

Not sure how many people are just reading only, and may be offended at times due to the content, and choose NOT to participate.

Just saying

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

I agree with and second keeping the thread on topic. This thread could get very long and it's more difficult for people to sift through information when we go off topic. Smiley Happy

Yes I have looked at Consumers too. Especially when I was on the hunt for TU pullers. Do you know how conservative they are?

They are not that conservative. When I applied for their credit card few months ago, I had too many new acounts and lots of inquiries, still they gave me 10K in credit with their lowest APR!!

Their CSRs are super friendly and nice to work with!!

maestro do you know if they fixed their new membership app verification process? I just read Ron1's thread from 2 years ago. And several people were denied membership due to some computer glitch. Smiley Frustrated

I joined during August 2015, and did not have any issues with the online application.  Once I applied online, next day some one from the membership service emailed me for proof of ID. Once I emailed  copy of DL, my savings and checking accounts were opened without any hassle.

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

I've been with SDFCU for about 2 years. I have checking, savings, secured CC, and a personal loan. They are inquiry and new account sensitive, I apped for unsecured CC, to many inquiries and new accounts. After denial within two weeks was offered preapproved personal loan. I said yes, figuring helps with FICO scores and a chance to prove I can handle credit. After first year of paying I may reapp for credit card. Until then, the secured Visa is my lowest rate card, tad over 7%, good if I need to carry a balance for a few months.

Thanks maestro! Just didn't want to waste a hp if they were having issues. 😉
