Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

Can anyone recommend a great credit union with shared or coop branched and that has a great saving interest rate. I'm currently with alliant but I can't get cashier checks or quarters since I'm in Michigan.

Have you looked into Lake Michigan CU? They are known for having great rates.

What about Andrews FCU, does anyone have information on them?

I noticed that someone made a post about them last week but it did not garner much in the way of responses. I've seen a few say they are conservative (aren't most credit unions?), and then another person say that he or she was able to get in without much difficulty and that his or her scores were not high. I joined Andrews FCU a couple of years ago.  It was a HP (EX I believe) to join.   The funny thing was the note for the HP said it was related to a mortgage.  I have gotten pre-qual'd emails for their CC (Titanium Sig Rewards) but I have never applied. It has been a while since I got the email, but I am fairly sure they mentioned a minimum CL of 10k.  When I got the pre-quals, my scores were over 800, but I did have many new accounts.  The main reason I looked at their CC was it is a chip-n-pin (secondary).  Their rewards program wasn't that great.

One added bonus, Andrews is now offering quarterly EQ-08 scores for CC holders.

You can go to their site and order your report.

Thanks, baller!  Went to their website and ordered one.

Curious to see what it has to say.

Original Scores: EQ FICO 645, TU 672, EX FICO 663 (4/2014)
Current Scores: EQ FICO 824, TU 840, EX FICO 826 (3/2018)

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

Any members of Apple FCU who wish to chime in about that CU? I recall that Irish had just joined recently but had not applied for any products at this time.

That's the thread I saw humu. That's why I thought you didn't have to be a member to app the cc. But, I will join nonetheless. I need to garden awhile first though. Looks like they are new acounts sensitive. And I have a ton! 😂

Here's the page to the download link to donate $20 to Longhorn Foundation for those interested. Especially Irish who is an undercover Longhorns fan! 😆

SP to join?

Ok I just got off phone with rep from UFCU and she said EX sp for membership and EX hp for credit products. Hp is good for 60 days.

I will be sending off my $20 to the Longhorn Foundation this week. 😉 Thanks humu for the new find!

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

For my Texas peeps, we can donate to the Longhorn Foundation at a branch and join UFCU on the spot. As opposed to downloading membership form and mailing it in with $20.

I'm so glad it worked out for you baller4 and I'm happy to be of help!

Thanks also for the helpful information about EX SP and EX HP. UFCU was on my short list for consideration in late 2017 and it helps to have as much information as possible. Smiley Happy

I was mobile and it downloaded Longhorn Foundation app when I clicked on it. But, from your computer you can open it and fill it out right online! Sweet!

ETA: Yeah you can fill it out online. But, no way to send it. LOL. You have to print it and mail it. But, I don't see an address on form.Smiley Frustrated
