That's the thread I saw humu. That's why I thought you didn't have to be a member to app the cc. But, I will join nonetheless. I need to garden awhile first though. Looks like they are new acounts sensitive. And I have a ton! 😂

Here's the page to the download link to donate $20 to Longhorn Foundation for those interested. Especially Irish who is an undercover Longhorns fan! 😆

SP to join?

Ok I just got off phone with rep from UFCU and she said EX sp for membership and EX hp for credit products. Hp is good for 60 days.

I will be sending off my $20 to the Longhorn Foundation this week. 😉 Thanks humu for the new find!

Thanks Baller. I will be moving on this as well! Smiley Wink

I was mobile and it downloaded Longhorn Foundation app when I clicked on it. But, from your computer you can open it and fill it out right online! Sweet!

ETA: Yeah you can fill it out online. But, no way to send it. LOL. You have to print it and mail it. But, I don't see an address on form.Smiley Frustrated

CRAP!!! Now we just need an address!!! Man Indifferent

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

OK figured I would GP this...

Went to http://http://www.thelonghornfoundation.com//

I signed up for an online account  and made a $20 donation. The receipt email had "customer number not yet assigned". So I'll gve them a day or so to reply or update it and let you know if it works.

You so totally rock! Thank you. I had just planned to go to a branch this weekend. But, I know out of state peeps can't really do that. 😃

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

I was reviewing the email confirmation again and noticed that it says its not an official tax document and the University would issue an official tax receipt within 7-10 days so it could possibly take that long to get the customer number that I assume will be needed to join the CU. If so no problem for me since I'm patient.

This thread will probably lead me to join several more CUs.

Huge Alliant fan here!! I recommend them to everyone!

Hey Baller, I know your a huge Alliant fan, so two questions for you regarding Alliant and there funds availability policy:

1- is there a limit to the number of individual checks you can deposit via mobile deposit daily?

2- do they offer business checking accounts?

Thanks! Looking forward to your answers!

The only restriction is a $50k(crazy right?) max deposit per check. There is no limit on number of checks. However, I don't see anything on their site about business checking. I see business loans. But, not checking accounts. Sorry. Smiley Sad

Ok, so I don't mind being a test case for credit/CU apps...

I started the app from my phone on the subway on the way into work, gave my CC for funding Checking ($25 minimum) and Savings ($6 minimum) on my way into Starbucks, and had a welcome email (but app is in review) by the time I ordered my coffee.

I clicked the "None of the Above" option in the first step of the account application, hoping they would have a spot somewhere to join the LongHorn Foundation and pay the $20. They DID NOT! (Unless I missed it, and am now going to be automatically rejected).

They DID pull my credit report (not sure if hard or soft yet), as I had to answer 5 verification questions about where I lived, who has my car loan, what card I opened in February 2016, etc.

I used to go to UT football games with my whole family back in the day. We had the Longhorn bleacher cushion seats with the fold-out backs and everything. (Even grew up with actual Longhorn steer in the back yard.)

I'll give them a call some time this morning and do a preemptive strike on the association membership question - then I'll report back.

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

From what I see there is no obligation to join the Longhorn group.  All it takes is a $1 lifetime membership fee and opening minimum savings and checking accounts

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

That very well may be the case Irish! gibeon is gp'ing just that. Hopefully he doesn't have to join Longhorn Foundation. One less step.

I'm very interested in their 1.50% apr auto loans. I will probably give them my auto refi instead of DCU.
