Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

Hello All, dont mean to post this again. Can someone shed light on if NFCU or Unify use Chexsystem or EWS as well as the normal credit checks to get in. I am still debating applying.

NFCU does not use Chex or EWS for approval. They hp TU(sometimes EQ) for membership. Unify does use Chex(not sure about EWS) and sp EX for membership.

Unify uses Chex, I never saw an inquiry from NFCU though. Not sure on EWS, I've never requested a copy of my report from them.

Re: Official Credit Unions Guide

Hey there. Do you have a roundabout idea of what kind of score I would need to qualify for a NFCU credit card. I know you said they are very good for people who are rebuilding (which I Am). Just trying to gauge how good.

They (generally) pull EQ for credit, so with your sub-600 score (from your sig) I'd say go straight for their secured card.  They usually unsecure after a year.  Alternatively, you could try for an unsecured, but from what I've read you'll want around mid-600's for that

Good Luck!

Well I was 590's like you on EQ when I was approved for $3k Cashrewards card. Only positive revolving accounts I had was Cap One secured and Fingerhut. I now have $17.5k Cashrewards, $25k Platinum MC and $15k CLOC.
