Officially a AU on a capital one
So I finally conquered one of my fico challenge goals. I am an authorized user as of today on my cousins $500 capital one card. Her Utilzation right now is 9% on the card. It's been open 2 and a half years. My own AoAA is 1 year 8 months. She is due for a CLI.. will that increase my total as well and will I get the hard pull too? What can I expect? I have a few derogs on my report but working to get them removed and or payed off. When do they start to report? Just wanting to see what to expect if anything.

Re: Officially a AU on a capital one
With CapOne, no hard pull for you and there shouldn't be one for your cousin either.
Sorry, I just don't feel comfortable discussing cli increases about your cousin's account.
Once you've paid off your collections, it's usually about a month +/- before they're no longer on your report. You can ask the collection agency what day they report to the bureaus, it should be shortly after that.
You might see a bump in your credit score once the CapOne AU account shows up on your credit report.
if i remember correctly... If your cousin's scores drop due to high utilization, late payments, etc on the CapOne card, your scores will drop as well. You are borrowing from her credit in a sense.
Years back when i met my wife, she had zero credit history. After i added her as a AU, her scores shot right up. A few months later she was able to get her own CC (she couldn't prior).

No other doesn't notify lol. Thanks for going further into detail. I thought collections don't come off, they just update. In my case one came off and the other two stayed. One that stayed was a charge off. But yes. Hopefully I do see an increase to my fico once the CO reports.

No prob at all.
True, they don't always stop reporting. I wonder if a "goodwill" letter would help in your case? You've paid the dept, so that is a plus.
Years back I had a bunch of hospital & doctor bill collections that I eventually paid when I could. All of those were taken off of my report upon receiving my payment.

Re: Officially a AU on a capital one
I sent off a goodwill letter a few days ago for the charge off I pif. Hopefully I have some good news to report to the forum soon. I also have a repo on my report. I doubt that will be removed. I hear they are super hard to get off. I have three years before that falls off
I have one hospital collections on my report that I will pay off in a few weeks upon receiving school refund. And one of my paid collections will fall of in April. The last two that I have to focus on are an apartment complex which is $6996 I can't afford to pay full and then the last one is Ibc bank which was sold to a collection agency $930. Unfortunately all in all I'll have to wait til these suckers fall off anyway. Paying has not worked in my favor. I won't lose hope but can't say I'm not a little discouraged.

Re: Officially a AU on a capital one
Goodluck, i hope the GW works in your favor.
I can totally relate to that. I just hit my 7 year date feb-march 2017.
Getting positive accounts will def help.
First the AU & then hopefully a few on your own after that.
Keep thinking positive, it will all pass in time 😉

Update: capital one reported today to Experian for the AU. Score jumped 24 points. Newscore is 625 which I've reached my current goal plus 5. Woohoo.
