OMG why do I listen to you guys.  So I call account protection and it goes something like this:

ME:  Hello I applied for the Overstock store card and didn't get a decision, can I provide some information to complete the application?

COMENITY:  Sir do you have a letter with an application ID on it?

ME:  No I don't have any magical letter, with the evolution of the computer are you able to look it up in your system?

COMENITY:  The only thing I can look up is your existing account.

ME:  Thank you, as usual I'm glad I called for nothing.  Click.

Maybe you should try to more condescending next time.

Will do.

LOL Smiley Very Happy

So, B.  From what I gathered, this was just a cold app right? Not SCT?  I suppose just wait for the letter.

Yeah it was a cold app.  Stupid SCT.  I might call and just say the letter is lost.

Ok, so try this.  I remember I had to do this with my DSW Visa last year because I actually never recieved their magical letter.  And, as you know, they won't proceed until your retina scan and those magical numbers match up.  Call the regular C/S, they can route the call to new accounts, explain situation (dog ate letter as Nixon said Smiley Tongue)  They can look up the application, ask them to regenerate the letter and this will provide the reference number (call back if they have no clue until you get someone who's willing to help).  IME, they CAN and will provide you the ref/app #.

At least, this way, you can put your mind at ease regardless of the outcome.  Now, if you decide to try your luck with reconsideration, be willing to give up and arm and any extra body parts you don't need - but you already know how receptive they can be with recons.

So much for a new shaver.  I guess I'll grow a beard while I wait for the mail.

Ok I tried again, she said the application is being reviewd and no further verification was needed.  I wasn't aware that Comenity manually reviewed anything.

Actually, they do but not in the sense like say... US Bank, Citi or Chase.  I remember when I applied for their A&F card 2 years ago, it literally took 2.5 weeks to go through the whole process.  Depending on what flag triggers an exception, it goes into some queue for manual verification (i.e. address, public records, other details, etc.) but in your case, I'm not sure.

Why do I do this for 10% lol??  Thanks Finstar.  Have you looked at the Yamaha credit card?  I almost applied today, I don't know if Cap1 will pull all 3 CR.

Re: Overstock. Crap

I got approved for the Overstock card a few weeks ago. My scores are in the low 600's, AAOA is like 2 years, with probably 8+ INQ on all CRA, maybe even 10-12. At the time I had CapOne Platinum ($2k), CapOne Platinum ($1.5k), CapOne QS One ($1.5k), Barclays Rewards MC ($1.5k), CreditOne ($0.7k), Amazon Store Card ($0.6k), Chase Slate ($0.5k), Lexus lease ($10k), utilization was like >10%. 3 collections to fall off in 2016...I was only approved for $250 using SCT, called in and requested 3k, I got $1800 instead.

hope this helps?

Because the challenge is just as exciting!  It's not so much the 10% - that's a plus if approved!  So far, it seems Overstock CC is the forum's favorite at the moment.

I looked at Yamaha a while back.  This would be a single pull from what I recall (family member applied sometime ago - EQ I believe? or it could be TU).

The input form looks very similar to the Saks Fifth Avenue store card.  I don't think Yamaha is a triple-puller like their mainline cards (Venture, QS).  Are you thinking about it?  Watcha gonna buy?

Or, perhaps a more specific question (if it was not clear), which kind B?  An ATV? Or which bike/model?
