Re: Overstock. Crap

I applied (hard pull) for Comenity's Limted card. I started with a $250 limit, and it has grown to $1300 in less than 8 months. It's the only Comenity card I have that was not a popup.

The SCT is completely random and many people get no pop ups at all, or get the pop ups on several accounts and none on others. Plus the credit granting criteria and range of credit limits and cli 's varies from store to store. Lots of these stores like Eddie Bauer, VS, Limited etc will only give limits of $250-$350 maybe some $500. And they are slow with cli's.

i just see the SCT as a way to get a few accounts with higher limit increase potential to pad utilization or for low score or no credit individuals to get some positive trade lines on their bureaus.

I can't count how long it took me to get my Overstock and J Crew accounts. Never got pop ups on anything else and boy I have tried!

For all this grief it would have been faster and easier to go the the store and just pay cash for the shaver. Smiley Sad

Faster you say?  Perhaps, you're right!!  However if you like paying more,  over waiting 2 days or even 1 day (Amazon)....then that choice is yours.Smiley Happy

At Sharper Image,  it sells for 399.99 + 10.59 ship = 410.94

At Walgreens the shaver goes for 244.99 + 19.60 tax = 264.59

At Walmart it's 218.40 + around 18 tax = 236.00

Both Overstock and Ebay sell it for 189.99

Amazon is selling it for 189.99 - 30 bucks coupon, no tax and free shipping if you're Prime for 159.99

Now which would you choose?

Re: Overstock. Crap

They still charged me tax. It came to $174.39 and with Prime it should be here in a day or two. I didn't even notice the $30 coupon until fedxboy told me.

Someone mentioned "all this grief": I'm not losing sleep over it, an instant approval would have been nice but I've been rejected by Comenity before.

Re: Overstock. Crap

fedxboy, I don't really know. At first I thought it was just California. But when I tried Overstock I didn't see tax on the price. I figure with the time i wasted, I came out about $250 haha.
