So these apps are 5 days ahead of schedule. I should have waited but Ill explain why I jumped the gun and why I was waiting at all to begin w/.
So in the past month Ive done 2 things. Increased limits and Paid down balances. I was waiting for my statements to cut and these changes to report for both the updated information and the increased score.
Right now im at 676 EQ 686 TU 699 EX - Credit Uti 33% AAoA 2.5 yrs. No lates. No baddies.
For this month I had 3 objectives (in this order):
Apply and get approved for Chase Slate for 5k+ (Ideal)
Apply and get approved for AMEX PRG
Use above Chase hardpull to increase my CSP to a desired 10k (if possible)
So today I was looking at the AMEX PRG online. Ive been trying to see one of the offers on my computer w/ no luck. I was actually just going to settle for the 25k next week. Something caught my eye on the terms it said 25k for 2k spend. I always thought it was 4k. So I wanted to verify that I wasnt seeing a different promo offer. I went to the site on my iphone so I could do a side by side and BAM! 65k Offer I was so shocked! I never realized Ive never been to the amex website from my phone. So I didnt want to miss the opportunity... soooo I screenshotted the offer and applied.
Was instantly approved!
But then I realized... ohh shoot. The Chase Slate At this point I was undecided about what to do becuase I needed my balances to be lower to get the ideal SL I was looking for. But I didnt want the inquiry from AMEX to show prior to my chase app.
Anywho I did some errands. Thought about whether I should fill out the app. And eventually came back home and said what the hey. I applied and got the dreaded 7-10 day response . Definitely not was hoping for. Any advice to help it go through much appreciated. I also paid my balance w/ Chase in full today.
congrats, i love amex. ive been putting heavy use with my PRG and its showing. Make sure you keep up with what you use
UPDATE:
I was approved for the Slate. I just needed to call in for verification. It was approved for 1.8k.
What made you want the Slate? BT? I will say if you only got $1800 on the Slate you might be approaching the CLs that Chase might be willing to extend you.
