So i applied for Paypal credit on 10/13, and was declined...so I thought.  Today I got a letter stating they need additional info regarding my income.  They sent me a link to follow with a reference number.  When I click on link it takes me to a pre-filled application to apply, but i see no where to put the reference number.  Will this result in a new app and new hard pull?  There was no number in the letter to call anyone.

I would call the 800 number and finish with them over the phone, my papal Rewards MasterCard is through synchrony, and they give very generous starting limits mine was 7k

So i called and they said I have to follow the link in the letter, but the link leads to an application that keeps giving me an error code when i hit submit.  Called back and said nothing they can do about it.  Cant even manually verify my income over the phone, just thru the link! What gives? any suggestions?  I am not cold apping again.

Is it through Synch? Not Comenity?

I have a PayPal account, not a MC, the hidden tradeline one, and I think it's through Comenity....

But not sure.

I was about to ask this as well... it sounds as if the OP has applied for the hidden Comenity Paypal Credit account.

I wish I had wisdom to contribute with this app, but Comenity is one of the few lenders I've not had an account with (which is odd, seeming that I've had something with the others at one time or another...)

Hopefully somebody will come along soon who has dealt specifically with this issue before.

Yeah I'm confused: is this the line of credit attached to your Paypal account or is it the Paypal MasterCard (or PayPal Extras MasterCard)?

this is for Paypal credit line, the hidden one thru Comenity.

Just to set the record straight; PayPal has 4 different credit products.

1. PayPal Extras Mastercard (backed by Synchrony Bank) Link

2. PayPal Smart Connect (an online only store card similar to the Overstock card backed by Synchrony Bank) Link

3. PayPal Credit (formerly Bill Me Later backed by Comenity Capital Bank) Link

4. PayPal Working Capital (the business loan backed by Webbank) Link

There is also a PayPal Debit Card which they tell customers to "run it as credit" to get the cashback but it is just a debit card.

Have you tried using a different browser?  I have to switch between Firefox and IE for certain banks in order to be able to send a secure message.  (IE does NOT like NFCU, I found that out today.)  Or maybe try private/ingognito browsing?

Alternately, its possible that the link goes to a page built spefically for your referral link, but that referral link is no longer valid, so it just sends to the generic application page.  Comenity could have sent you that letter in error.
