Penfed: first card Q

Just got the new Penfed. First card w them. Low limit. Only 10k. Should I call them to see about bumping the limit before I start using them or should I use the card for the next two
Months then ask for CLI while the first Hp is still usable by them (60 or 90d?)

How recently did you open the account? Have they emailed you the survey yet?

They emailed me the survey for checking. Not credit card. . Got the card yesterday and activated it. Haven’t used it yet. Opened checking etc 2-3 weeks go. Thanks

I should add More dp: Mid to high $200k personal limits. Mostly Chase and Amex

FIco: EX 807, TU 805

HP: ex 5, Tu 0, EQ 2 (schwab Checking and Penfed checking+cc)

Fill out the checking survey and complain about your CC SL... They'll probably call you and you can talk to the LO and see if they can raise it... They are usually really good about that

the # should be in the backdoor sticky

So I wasn’t able to find a backdoor number and called the main line. They wouldn’t transfer me to lending but said I need to apply for a cli which I did. Despite just activating the card.

Denied.

Reason: too much unsecured debt relative to income. I checked my EQ before and after the pull and my TL are showing under $1k of balance on $250k+ available credit.

Is this just a matter of showing usage w Penfed or they actually do not like you having much available credit either?

There is no backdoor number. Keep calling the main number and ask for a loan officer.
