I currently have the Capital one platinum card. I recently received some pre approval emails for the quicksilver card. I didn't end up taking the bait and decided I'd be better off just PC'ing my platinum to quicksilver. I did that about a month ago.
As of this week I have received a few different emails saying I'm "pre approved" for the Savor One card. It's no annual fee and offering me 9months of 0% interest but NOT offering me the 250$ sub if you spend 500$ in 3 months.
I decided to call in and just confirm that this pre approval doesn't include the SUB. The man asked for the invitation number and said on his end it's coming up still as the quicksilver offer that I denied months ago and already PC'd my card to a quicksilver. He thought that was weird , and asked me to click continue on the offer and see if it brought me to an app for the Quicksilver or Savor one. It did bring up the app for the Savor one. He was confused from there and really couldn't offer me much help but to just app for it and see what happenes. Obviously I'd rather not app for it if it's going to be for the quicksilver card since that's what's showing up on his end. But on my end I've got 3 different emails offering this card to me. What do you guys think of this situation ?
Also that leaves me thinking of if I do apply should I just cold app for the savor one that has the actual SUB included in it and see what happens or am I better off apping with the "pre approval" access code. I know a pre approval isn't a guarantee but I figure it does help a bit. The Savor one seems to come in two different levels one for people with good credit and one for people with excellent credit. The excellent credit is the one that offers the sub. I wouldn't say I have excellent credit I just have decent credit and good history with Capital one that I believe inspired them to give me the offer for the card to begin with. Trying to weigh my options on if I should app with the pre approval and ditch trying to get the sub or cold app , it's a hard choice to make since you burn 3 hard pulls.
Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated from you guys.
If the SavorOne fits you spend, apply for it. IMO it's the only Cap1 card with a decent rewards structure. I would apply for the one with the SUB, because if you do not qualify you will just be offered the one without the SUB. Cap1 is very relationship oriented so if you have a good, long relationship with them plus the mailers you've received, I would certainly suspect you would have a very strong chance of landing an approval. Cap1 has been new account sensitive lately, so if you have gone app happy recently I would be cautious. As you said, the triple pull is the price you pay. Personally I love my Savor and use it daily. It was worth the 3 pulls and they gave me triple my next highest SL at the time I apped for it. I suspect it was because I've had a QS since '15. Whatever you decide to do, let us know how it turns out. Good luck!
Screenshot everything from application through (hopefully) approval so that there is no doubt that per the user interface you really were applying for the Savor One.
Thanks for the info guys - it would be a perfect card to add to my wallet. Is that 100% true about if you cold app for the saver one for "excellent credit" and aren't approved they will offer you the savor one for "good credit"
id really like to get the sub and not miss out on it. If true then I'd take a chance and worst case if I'm denied for the excellent credit option I would hope they would offer me the good credit savor one option since I have a pre approval and accesss code for it , but that doesn't include the sub obviously , and 9 months 0% apr vs 15months if you cold app.
A few years ago I (and my other family members) always used to get the same kinda emails from Capital One for a pre-approved offer for this Savor Card with reservation/access number...almost every 2 weeks...but I was not interested in any of their cards because Capital One is worst bank in my personal opinion as they have -(1) no credit department to manually look into your any credit related request if something goes wrong with their system..everything is handled by their system...and system is messed up more often as it always gives a denial reason which doesn't even exist most of the time or not true at all...Also, capital one is very cheap one bank... at least compared to most lenders....I am telling you based on my own experience for many years...So one day I gave in to this pre-approved offer for Savor card and did apply, and to my great surprise I instantly got approved for $32k which was a shock of my life...But keep it in mind that I have had Quicksilver with them for 8-9 years at least which I used to use very often and heavily especially at abroad since it has no foreign transaction fees and easily accepted outside of US unlike some of my other cards. And even though I have had used Quicksilver a lot and heavily, yet still capital one had always denied my request for CLI..at least 30 requests in the last 9 years. So I have had no trust in them for giving me this much credit line on savor especially when they have never offered me any CLI nor ever approved my request for CLI in the last 9 years. Also, I have a very thick credit profile....none of any negatives ever and 1% utilization and too many high end cards...don't know if that has anything to do with it or not...

Here is a screenshot from the SavorOne app. (With the SUB.)
Thanks for posting that - that would be great if they do offer the next level down from the savor for excellent credit. The sub is a pretty decent one that id love to be able to get.

For sure! Not a lot of recent posts on Cap1, especially since they took away their pre-approvals for their full lineup (boo, hiss!) But there are pleanty of DPs out there of others posting about how they applied for the SavorOne, VentureOne, and QS, did not qualify for sub, and were then offered the version "for good credit" and were given the option to accept or decline the secondary offer.
That's weird. Did you try doing it online? I got the same Pre-Approved e-mail offer and I did it. I applied and was instantly approved. I had a Quicksilver before.
What do you mean when you say did you try doing it online ? It was an email they sent with an access code. Is there an alternative way to enter the code through there website directly instead of the email ?
