Preparing for CSP/CSR card. looking for advice !

Hello My fico,

I've been gardening since late january in order to apply for CSP or CSR. I have a thin File, but have a good 3.5 years relationship with chase. This whole past year, i've been getting green check marks and you are prequalified black stars for CSP on chase website and app(with set APR). Believe me, It was hard to hold and sit on my fingers. Funny enough i decided to check my odds with the apple card just to see the terms i would get. Next day, all my preapprovals were gone. Went to a branch and guess what ? No Preapprovals for you. I also just recently received an amex soft pull CLI. Does anybody see any correlation with those soft pulls and my approvals gone? I really want the CSR but have no rush. Just want to be as close to "certain" as possible on an approval. Have a trip coming up in 2 weeks and a good bonus would be awesome but not necessary.

AAoA - 1.2yrs

AoOA - 1.10yrs

AoYA - 10months

Income - Mid 70's

Inq - 3 Exp / 1 Trans / 1 Eq

No baddies.

Scores on Siggy.

What do you guys think ? Should i cold App or wait for an PreApproval to come back ?

Any Input Appreciated.

Prequals come and go. If nothing really changed on your CR, go for it.
Amex CLI had nothing to do with it. If anything, it could help, not the other way around.

No preapproval or prequal is a sure thing, so if you're about to wait for some kind of approval guarantee, you better find a couch, because it's going to be a long time.

It's just a HP (or two) and at least 60000 reasons to try.

Remy is right.

I say go for the card you want and not the one offered to you through any screening process.  PRE's on any bank site have never produced any results for me personally but the apps have amounted to 200K+ in CL's.  If you're sure of yourself and willing to fight for an approval if it's not approved then you're at least giving it your best shot.

Thin files have hurdles as do all other profiles.  Even with a thick file, 800+ scores, good income, and so forth I still get denials for cards that should be an easy approval.  There's no correlation of a SP here or a CLI there with the pre-approvals showing up.  If you're under 5/24 and moderate to low new accounts in the last 2 years and over a year of history you check most of the boxes that Chase looks for.  If you have a 10K+ reporting CL then you should be able to at least argue your way into an approval or at least a CSP if you can't stick the landing on a CSR.

Lol. Thank you Remedios and Obscure. That's what i thought as well. My profile has no changes and I've been prepping for this app since day 1 of my credit life. I do check all those boxes and i am sure of myself. Will app soon and will report back when i do. Thanks again for the knowledge and words of encouragement.

Cheers !
