No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
It processes like normal, then says "No dice, but apply for these cards.."
IIB $2200 across an Orchard Bank card and a Platinum will probably blacklist you. Not necessarily is that 100% true, but it's a possibility.
I actually looked at all my reports, and there are no soft pulls from anyone except for MyFico, each credit bureau soft pulling each other and the occasional JDB being snoopy.
I was discharged Saturday.
I do not have fraud alerts or freezes at all.
I know many people on here get pre-qualifications during the last week of their BK. I'm not getting soft pulled at all.
MY GF ROASTED Capital One for $10k+. She only has a Carson's card and Kohl's card, and an auto loan.
She's now 19 months out of her BK, and did the prequalify. VentureOne and QS1 popped up with firm offers...
So I don't know.
No, I was discharged two days ago.
Too soon or not, you missed the point.
Prequalifications should at least soft pull me. They are not.
@daveg38 wrote:I know this is an older thread, but here's a question.
If Capital One (for one) doesn't soft pull when you fill in the prequalification info, does that mean you're blacklisted?
I've seen soft pulls from several other companies, but none from Cap1.
short answer is no
from my experience you are not SP while using a prequal site, just that if you have been SP by a company then they give you an offer.
CRAs sell lists of names to CC companies that fit a certain criteria, this list is where most prequals come from (which is why when you opt in after having been opted out it can take months to start receiving prequals again)
Ah. You nailed it, I think.
I had opted out for years, and just a week ago, opted in.
So I suppose that may have something to do with things.
Although I do assume the remaining recipe has something to do with a temporary halt on offers due to Capital One being IIB. I surmise once they get word of my discharge, they may open up and allow me in again.
