Hello,
I I have new credit(730-745 across board), which consists of one credit card with a $2500 High, and $200 balance. Income is great, and have always paid cash. Trying get 1-2 relatively high limit cards to strengthen profile, as I need to buy a car shortly, have no co available, and I know it'll be tough with one trade line. Also, looking to buy house in next 12 months, but need at least 3 trade lines. I keep reading about navy Fcu and their generosity on limits, and I can join,as i am eligible. Any suggestions as I want a good rate or bonuses, and not going to go cap one or credit one route etc. Looking for at least $5000-10000 per line limit. Is this feasible? Was thinking maybe a computer approval due to high scores and no debt.
Thanks for any advice
Craig
Also would consider line of credit that I wouldn't really use to build profile
My dw started with 2k in january 2015 for navy cash rew.... Three statement cuts on april and seeing that they had AR on 4/28. Went ahead and asked for 25k .. They counter with 12.5k... ..
Navy could be a choice if u want high limits.. They. might start low but in three monts and wait for that AR.. And ur golden..
Amex was also. High limit for my dw... Applied foe amex ED approved for 9.5k. Few minuteslater applied for amex bce waited five days nd got approved for 9.9k. All this just being an AU on my best buy and cap 1..5 year old cards. That was on oct 2014... Plus u have the 3xcli ...
Those could be ur choices...
Haven't tried anywhere yet. Sorry for the ignorance, but what is DW? Thanks
I would definitely recommend NFCU since you're eligible to join.
We joined in January. I applied for a credit card immediately (online) and was approved instantly for the Cash Rewards for $12,500. My scores at the time ranged from about 704 to 725. Clean file except for a 5 year old paid State tax lien. (Edited to add APR was 11.65% for me.)
My husband didn't apply then. He got an email solicitation a few days ago that he was "Preselected" for the Cash Rewards and decided to apply. Instant approval online for $25,000 at 9.65%. His scores are currently in the 725 to 735 range, but he has the tax lien also, plus a couple of minor baddies from 5 or 6 years ago.
The great thing about Navy, in addition to the generous starting limits, is that they can be an excellent source for other types of credit in the future, also at great rates...like car loans, mortgages, etc. And their customer service so far has been stellar for us. I've had to call a couple of times for help with getting some things set up in the savings account I opened with them, etc., and they've been truly a pleasure to deal with.
Chase Sapphire Reserve $30,000 | Amex BCP $30,000 | Discover It $30,000 | Citi Simp $16,500 | NFCU Cash Rewards $14,400 | Citi DC $9,800 | Chase Freedom $9,000 | VS $4,100 | Kohl's $3,000 | Loft $3,000Luckybird brings up a good point. They are a great source for other loan products. Besides my credit card and checking line of credit I just got a car loan from them at 2.99% for a used car. They are awesome. I cant say enough about them.

Then definitely join while you can even if you don't apply for any of their products.

Tough for us to say. Try referring to the Credit Pulls Database.
Thanks. Only had the open card for a year, but the balance is now under $200, so I'm over 90% available revolving and over 740 on all three bureaus.
thanks
