I have seen the pop-up every time I've tried the trick for the last few months. I finally decided to go for it now that my scores are higher than they've been for a while. As I tried it on Friday, the pop-up came up and I began entering the info. As I was about to click the button to submit the info, my stupid laptop touchpad took my movement as a click as th cursor was outside the pop-up. It completely disappeared before I could submit.
Now I can't get the pop-up to come back. I've tried different browsers, incognito/private browsing sessions, deleting cache, cookies, etc., and even different devices. It just will not come back. Any idea how to summon this thing again? Is there a certain amount of days I should wait? I was hoping to get this card before my scores are updated as my utilization will be slightly higher (xmas shopping), resulting in a small hit to my score. Any tricks that I might try that I haven't tried yet?
Thanks. I'll try that when I get back on my laptop.
I created a new account with a different email address and tried again. Got the pop-up and went for it. Expected an approval but instead got a "under review... 10 days" message. Really didn't expect that.
I currently have 2 accounts with Comenity. An Eddie Bauer card with a $1.3k limit and a PayPal Credit account with a $7.5k limit. My scores are pretty decent and my utilization has been steadily decreasing so I really expected some good news. Oh well.
Thanks for the advice though. It worked to get the pop-up again.
could be verification..
Hopefully. It would be nice to get approved with them but if it's a denial, at least it's not a HP. I'll just wait for the letter and see what happens
When I got my Overstock store card, I had not applied for it.....I got a pre approved email that said I was pre approved for The Overstock.com Storecard. I clicked the link to accept it and put my social and phone numbers in and got a credit line of $250. That limit is now at $1050 and the card it 10 months old. Most of my other Comenity cards were done after reading about the Overstock card here and reading about the SCT.
Finally got my letter. I was denied due to some information not matching up with my report. AGAIN. I say again because this is EXACTLY what happened back at the beginning of 2015. I tried the SCT but was repeatedly denied because something in my info didn't match up. It's all the same info I've had for years but it somehow didn't match up in Comenity's eyes. No problem with any other creditors, just them. I was denied by Sportsman, Jcrew, Express, but then finally approved for $500 with Eddie Bauer in February... with the same info as always. Couple of months later, I was approved for $7.5k PayPal Credit. I've received 2 CLIs on the Eddie Bauer account and now have a $1.3k limit. All my info is exactly the same as it's always been since I first applied with Comenity. But for some reason, their computers see it differently all of a sudden.
I'm so done with Comenity. I don't understand them at all. I'll keep what I have but won't bother applying for anything else with them.
