Re: RBFCU vs SSFCU?

@Baller

Meaning the RBFCU PLOC currently as of right now is a HIDDEN credit line correct?

I'm four months and a day - June 1st from being totally TU clean and big lines with RBFCU (who I've dumped 100,000's into over the last almost 6 years in business banking deposits and car payments) better be opening up their credit union war chest to me with at least a $20K CC and $20K PLOC.

Re: RBFCU vs SSFCU?

Anyone try for a CLI after 6-12 months with RBFCU on their PLOC/CC? I hear all CLI with RBFCU are a hard pull on TU

Re: RBFCU vs SSFCU?

So OP what CU did you end up joining?

If I were him I would join both. I give the slight edge to RBFCU since SSFCU took a year and half to warm up to me. They only financed our vehicle but wouldn't budge for anything else. On the other hand RBFCU refinanced our vehicle at 2.9%, gave me a 15k SL CC and a ploc of 1k. Sure wish the Ploc was the same amount as my SSFCU but still I got all of those on the first try. No denials.

@datrucking210

When you got approved with RBFCU for a $15K SL CC and PLOC of $1K did you...

Have any past or current relationships with them (mortgage, car loan, business accounts, etc.)?
Were you self-employed or W2?
Income range you stated?

I've been business banking with RBFCU for over 4 1/2 years, two savings accounts and I just paid off a five-year luxury vehicle with them with perfect payment history. In this time, these SOB have never once offered me any type of PLOC, BLOC, signature loan, CC or anything.

Come June 3rd it will be RBFCU-geddon when I'm 100% clean on TU and I ask for a $20K PLOC and $20K CC. If I don't get at least $20K+ from these two lines I will be telling them I'm going to their biggest competitor who I just opened a account with a few days ago.

Rbfcu is my primary !! I love it and love what they offer.

720 will get you best rate on all products (excluding mortgage)

they pull TU and is good for 45 days.

PLOc is hidden T/L for me and love it.... I also love how many times throughout the year, they allow you

to skip CC payments and around the holidays they allow you to skip a month of your car note . Live it.

theyd rather allow you to skip it during the holidays than for you to be late or default due to holiday shopping etc.

(optional if you'd like to participate and of course the payment is placed on back of the loan)

with your income , I'm not sure how bug of a limit you will get. I would expect $5k. But they do give big limits as long

as your file and income supports it. I have no experience with the other CU, just RBFCU

They don't allow you to skip CC payments. Just auto.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE:

yes, after the 2014 conversion any LOC obtained after that IS hidden. Anything from before is not. But they are aware of the hidden LOC and are working to fix it so don't apply for the LOC ONLY for a hidden TL. You'll be pisses when they fix it.

And, OP, RBFCU is a conservative lender.

No previous relationship with them, app'd for the car refi first got approved after sending poi, and then went after the rest., W2 50k income

Crazy that you have been with them for that long and nothing offered to you. This past January I saw that I had two CC offers, I was pre-approved for the Cashback Rewards and another Premier rate CC. Didn't think it was possible to have another Premier card so I went with the Cash rewards and got approved,1k SL

Re: RBFCU vs SSFCU?

Thanks for the data points @datrucking201

So you have a $1K PLOC, $15K CC and a $1K CC with RBFCU now?
