Recon for AMEX CLI?

Hi guys,

I see all the time recon topics when applying for a card, but can you recon for a denied CLI increase? AMEX denied my request for a CLI. I got the letter and they're going off my EX score from May which was 671. It's now 711 so I was wondering would they reconsider.

Re: Recon for AMEX CLI?

No.

Calling for reconsideration is appropriate when you gave up a HP and did not get what you expected.

AMEX CLI are SP, so there was no credit report effect. They just were not ready to grant the increase yet, and their CLI are all handled by the computer.

Wait 91+ days, read up all the pages of the AMEX 3X CLI thread ( there are more than a few pages ) and then try again after those 91 days. By that time your improved score will have been SP updated, you will have some more positive payments added, and chances of success improve.

anything over 670 is good with ax, what is below in the details is what counts.  I did a recon yesterday because of a decline on an everyday and they had not taken into account payments that had come in tha day day.  some real time system huh, anyway off to a manual review it goes and I am quite sure it will come back with an increase.  I generally stand my ground with amex as I hate they outsourced everything but that is another topic.  if you believe your cli has merit hold your ground and ask for a manual review.  use the # on the back of the card and asked to be transfers to the cli dept.
