Reporting income question

When reporting income during a credit application or a CLI request, should I include non-elective contributions to my 401k? These are contributions that may employer automatically makes for me, and they do not come out of my wages. Similar question is, do I count matched contributions?

Re: Reporting income question

No. Think of income only as funds you’d reasonably have access to on a daily basis. If you’re married you can include a spouse’s income. You don’t want to claim more than you could prove if ever asked (as in regard to a possible CLI or card app).

NO.  Man if i could report my companies 200% match to my 401k up to 6% along with my medical they pitch in along with the SS/medicare match, etc I would be reporting a SLEW of income that would make many jealous on the forum Smiley Happy

Re: Reporting income question

No - income has to be anything you have reasonable access to that includes work income, child support, alimony, side jobs, etc. 401k/403b, money markets, etc. (IMHO, I may be wrong on the investing side), do not count towards your income. I believe spouse is included if you have joint accounts.
